Al Arabia “The Arabic One” is an Arabic-language television news channel launched on March 3, 2003. The channel is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is partly owned by the Saudi broadcaster Middle East Broadcasting Center. January 26,2009 President Barack Obama gave his first formal interview as President to the television channel. 

Al Arabia is a direct competitor of Al Jazeera, which is based in Qatar and is Saudi owned. Al Arabia claims to promote a cure for violence and says that it was Al Jazeera’s coverage of  Osama bin Laden that made him and other radical groups celebrities.

Opinion:
National Geographic is still promoting the global warming or the easier to sell ‘Climate Change’ swindle as Jack Kinsella of the Omega Letter calls it. The article says “Even a regional  nuclear war could spark unprecedented global cooling and reduce rainfall for years, according to U.S. government computer models. Widespread famine and disease would likely follow.” Also, the Wall Street Journal  has an Op Ed this morning on the topic. Quoting Kim Jong Il in  the early 1990′s, ”Nuclear weapons are Chosun,” he said, using the North Korean word for Korea. “If we destroy our nuclear program, we may as well destroy ourselves.” (see story below)
What, me worry?!! No, we Christians can take comfort in God’s word. 1Thessalonians 4:16-18 says ” For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”

Opinion:
Under Siege! When I  read the title of this article I thought of some siege in a country in the Middle East or maybe Wisconsin. Did I say Wisconsin? Lets face it things have been a little upside down lately.
But this article is about Christian persecution. Now here is a subject that you only hear in passing on breaking news flashes on Fox or a Christian broadcast. This is a topic that gets little coverage from the media, or the pulpit for that matter, and when was the last time that you had a conversation about it with anyone?
It is interesting that most bigotry that maligns a particular religious group, race, or ethnicity usually has an official sounding name like; Homophobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semite, Racist, Male Chauvinist, White Supremacist, neo-Nazi, and the latest slur is Tea Baggers. But it seems as if it’s OK to hate Christians, even in the US where over 80% of Americans profess to be Christian.

The Bible speaks of Christian persecution in the last days. Depending on where we are on the Bible’s timeline, the scale of  persecution will continue to grow to unimaginable levels as the end of this age approaches.

In my post from February 18, titled ‘Netanyahu lets Egypt build up 4000 troops in Sinai’, Egypt claimed that troops were needed to protect the oil and gas pipeline that supplies Israel and Jordan. Israel agreed and did not even ask for a timeline for withdrawal from this demilitarized zone. A gigantic mistake. Iran is now taking advantage of the anarchy in Egypt to establish a foothold in Sinai, a very strategic piece of land that is both easy from which to launch attacks and supply Gaza with additional weapons (see map below). Debkafile reported that Israel’s unconditional consent to allow Egyptian troops to enter the Sinai paved the way for the Iranian war ships to pass through the Suez Canal. Now Iran is looking to supply heavy weapons and equipment to the Sinai . Verse 7 of Psalm 83 includes Philista and Amalek as two of the participants of an Arab assault on Israel in the last days. Philista’s descendants are the people of Gaza today (Hamas) and Amalek’s descendants are modern day Arabs of the Sinai.
