The prospect of a protracted conflict in Libya remained as forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi took back oil ports at Ras Lanuf and Brega. Rebels massed for a counter-attack in eastern Libya on Thursday, both encouraged by and wary of news of covert U.S. support and the defection of Gaddafi’s foreign minister.

Every single resolution of the UN Security Council pertinent to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has said that the issues must be resolved via negotiations between the parties. And here comes the head of the UN, with a statement that directly undermines that principle: He is prepared to state before the fact of final negotiations what the outcome “must” be.”
Opinion:
Joel 3:1-2 clearly states that the Jews are His people, that Israel is His heritage, and that Jerusalem is His land. The story of Jerusalem from beginning to end is there for all to see in God’s word the Bible.
Zechariah 12:1-3 teaches that Jerusalem will be an immovable rock for all the nations, and all who try to move it will injure themselves. Psalm 122:6 tells us that those who love Jerusalem will be blessed.

Opinion:
There are several posts over the past few weeks that speak to a shift of both economic as well as military power. Under the present administration the US is giving up the leadership of global security that has been in place since WWII:
1. The US Federal Reserve is now being led by the ECB (European Central Bank).
2. The US has given NATO control over operations in Libya.
3. The EU wants the UN to advance Middle East peace initiatives.
4. The US dollar is under attack from runaway deficit spending and may lose ‘reserve status’.
5. The Start treaty has diminished our ability to build missile defense systems.
The Bible clearly forecasts the rise of the revived Roman Empire (EU) in the last days as well as four power blocs that make war with Christ at His second coming. Ez:38, Dan 7:7, Dan 11:40, Rev 16:12 and Rev. 17:12, There is no mention of any country resembling the US in Bible prophecy.

Opinion:
I keep hearing the Washington politicians talk about the Libyan rebels wanting a peaceful democratic government and explaining that the US involvement will be limited, since we have given control of the operation to NATO. The above article points out that the “transition of the US command to NATO welcomed by President Obama was likewise a play on words given the pre-eminent role America plays in the Northern Alliance in terms of command, capabilities and budget.” The last thing America needs is a third protracted war in the Middle East.

British archaeologists are seeking to authenticate what could be a landmark discovery in the documentation of early Christianity: a trove of 70 lead codices that appear to date from the 1st century CE, which may include key clues to the last days of Jesus’ life. As UK Daily Mail reporter Fiona Macrae writes, some researchers are suggesting this could be the most significant find in Christian archeology since the Dead Sea scrolls in 1947.

TEL AVIV – “A staunch denier of the Holocaust, Hanan Ashrawi, who served as the deputy of late PLO leader Yasser Arafat, also worked on the committee that devised the military doctrine ‘Responsibility to Protect.’ That doctrine was the justification used by President Obama on Monday night for US and international air strikes against Libya.
Ashrawi (photo below) is an infamous defender of Palestinian terrorism. Her father, Daoud Mikhail, was a co-founder of the PLO with Arafat. The PLO was engaged in scores of international terrorist acts and was declared a terrorist group by the U.S. in 1987. She has stated she does not “think of Hamas as a terrorist group.”
Soros himself outlined the fundamentals of Responsibility to Protect in a 2004 Foreign Policy magazine article entitled “The People’s Sovereignty: How a New Twist on an Old Idea Can Protect the World’s Most Vulnerable Populations.”
How much of a reach is it for the ‘Responsibility to Protect’ doctrine to be the justification for intervention against Israel if the IDF were to attack Gaza, as unprovoked missile and mortar attacks on Israel’s citizens continue on a daily basis? Could the unthinkable become reality, that the US could join a coalition to protect Palestinians against our ally Israel? Remember, God promised blessings to those who bless Israel, but He also said that He would curse those who curse them Genesis 12:3. God keeps His promises!
