American Thinker:
“Obama’s behavior (last week) is even more disturbing than Nixon’s. Nixon at least respected the judicial branch enough to have his attorneys show up in court and follow procedure[.] … Nixon acknowledged the authority of the judicial branch even while he fought it. Obama, on the other hand, essentially said yesterday that the judicial branch has no power over him. He ordered his attorneys to stay away from the hearing. He didn’t petition a higher court in a legitimate attempt to stay the hearing[.] … Rather than respecting the legal process, Obama went around the courts and tried to put political pressure directly on the Georgia Secretary of State. When that failed, he simply ignored the judicial branch completely.”
Opinion:
We spoke about this yesterday. The mainstream media are supposed to protect us from government, not aid in promoting ideology. The only somewhat balanced media is Fox, owned by Newscorp, but now we find out that a Saudi Prince is the second biggest shareholder. Is Fox leaning left?
Jack Kinsella, of Omega Letter, said this: “A generation ago, there were more than 1300 independently owned and operated newspapers. That’s 1300 independent editorial boards. Today’s media is concentrated in the hands of just five super media conglomerates, Viacom, NewsCorp, AOL/Time/Warner, Disney and GE.
They control everything you see and hear on TV, at the movies, read in the newspaper, or hear on the radio. Viacom is French-owned. Viacom owns CBS, UPN, MTV, Nickelodeon, Showtime, Sundance Channel, VH-1, King World Productions, Infinity Broadcasting and Comedy Central. There are fewer than 300 locally-owned independent newspapers in America. The rest belong to Viacom, GE, Disney and Newscorp through a complicate series of interlocking directorates.”
Remember the furor over Valerie Plame, Scooter Libby, Abu Ghraib and every Attorney General that served under President Bush? In this administration, the president blows off a subpoena, makes recess appointments when Congress is in session, goes into military action (Libya) without Congressional approval, drops the Defense Of Marriage Act, and is openly going to force religious hospitals to support sterilization and abortion… Yet, his actions rarely receive a dissenting headline. The mainstream press are going to just love whoever inforces a 7 year peace in the Middle East…they have had a lot of practice.
