The Guardian:
“Three Americans barred by Egyptian authorities from leaving the country have sought refuge at the United States embassy in Cairo. Tensions between the two states have escalated following unprecedented raids by security forces on a number of human rights and pro-democracy organisations working in Egypt.”

Opinion:
It’s been almost one year since the beginning of the so-called Arab Spring. The Obama administration called for the Mubarak administration to step down amid promises from the Muslim Brotherhood that they would not seek to run for power. All that has changed, as we predicted, and the MB has at least a 40% hold on Egypt’s government. The even more radical Salafists have the other 20%, making Egypt quite hostile toward Israel and the US. Every nation in the ME is lining up exactly the way the Bible said it would in the last days.

Egypt has two roles to play in the latter day wars. According to Bill Salus, author of “Israelstine“, in the war of Psalm 83, Egypt (Hagarites) joins in, or lends support, to the 10 nation Arab coalition. In Ezekiel 38-39, Egypt is conspicuously absent but emerges to lead the Kings of the South in the final war of Armageddon.

American Thinker:
“Obama’s behavior (last week) is even more disturbing than Nixon’s. Nixon at least respected the judicial branch enough to have his attorneys show up in court and follow procedure[.] … Nixon acknowledged the authority of the judicial branch even while he fought it. Obama, on the other hand, essentially said yesterday that the judicial branch has no power over him. He ordered his attorneys to stay away from the hearing. He didn’t petition a higher court in a legitimate attempt to stay the hearing[.] … Rather than respecting the legal process, Obama went around the courts and tried to put political pressure directly on the Georgia Secretary of State. When that failed, he simply ignored the judicial branch completely.”

Opinion:
We spoke about this yesterday. The mainstream media are supposed to protect us from government, not aid in promoting ideology. The only somewhat balanced media is Fox, owned by Newscorp, but now we find out that a Saudi Prince is the second biggest shareholder. Is Fox leaning left?

Jack Kinsella, of Omega Letter, said this: “A generation ago, there were more than 1300 independently owned and operated newspapers. That’s 1300 independent editorial boards. Today’s media is concentrated in the hands of just five super media conglomerates, Viacom, NewsCorp, AOL/Time/Warner, Disney and GE.

They control everything you see and hear on TV, at the movies, read in the newspaper, or hear on the radio. Viacom is French-owned. Viacom owns CBS, UPN, MTV, Nickelodeon, Showtime, Sundance Channel, VH-1, King World Productions, Infinity Broadcasting and Comedy Central. There are fewer than 300 locally-owned independent newspapers in America. The rest belong to Viacom, GE, Disney and Newscorp through a complicate series of interlocking directorates.”

Remember the furor over Valerie Plame, Scooter Libby, Abu Ghraib and every Attorney General that served under President Bush? In this administration, the president blows off a subpoena, makes recess appointments when Congress is in session, goes into military action (Libya) without Congressional approval, drops the Defense Of Marriage Act, and is openly going to force religious hospitals to support sterilization and abortion… Yet, his actions rarely receive a dissenting headline. The mainstream press are going to just love whoever inforces a 7 year peace in the Middle East…they have had a lot of practice.

Joel Rosenberg:
“The Sunday New York Times magazine has published a must-read story by Israeli journalist Ronen Bergman, one of the most respected Israeli journalists following the Iran story over several decades. It is headlined, “Will Israel Attack Iran?” Bergman’s conclusion: “After speaking with many senior Israeli leaders and chiefs of the military and the intelligence, I have come to believe that Israel will indeed strike Iran in 2012. Perhaps in the small and ever-diminishing window that is left, the United States will choose to intervene after all, but here, from the Israeli perspective, there is not much hope for that. Instead there is that peculiar Israeli mixture of fear — rooted in the sense that Israel is dependent on the tacit support of other nations to survive — and tenacity, the fierce conviction, right or wrong, that only the Israelis can ultimately defend themselves.”  Click here for NYT article “Will Israel Attack Iran?”

 Street Journal Wall Op-Ed:
“The Bible’s proclamation that “Six days shall ye work” is its recognition that on a day-to-day basis work is the engine that brings about man’s inner state of personal responsibility. Work develops the qualities of accountability and urgency, including the need for comity with others as a means for the accomplishment of tasks. With work, he becomes imbued with the knowledge that he is to be productive and that his well-being is not an entitlement. And work keeps him away from the idleness that Proverbs warns leads inevitably to actions and attitudes injurious to himself and those around him.”

YNet News:
“Iran’s state TV is reporting the country has produced laser-guided artillery shells, capable of hitting moving targets with high accuracy. The Monday report quoting Defense Minister Gen. Ahmad Vahidi also says that the shell was an “intelligent” munition with the capability to identify its own targets.”

The Telegraph:

The First Lady – better known for shopping at more modestly-priced High Street stores – along with the Queen of Qatar, Sheikha Mozah, closed off part of Madison Avenue to spend time in the luxury lingerie shop. Their purchases contributed to a market-spanking 12.5pc lift in sales. Agent Provocateur, which is styled on vintage Hollywood glamour, sells handmade Calais lace corsets that sell for up to £900, which could ruffle the feathers of more than just President Barack Obama in an election year.
Opinion:
First Lady Michelle Obama welcomes students and celebrities to an evening of dinner and entertainment as part of Women's History Month at the White House, Washington, DC

“Let Them Cake,” those three words earned Marie Antoinette the guillotine. But it is unlikely that Michelle’s shopping spree will even dent her, or the re-election of her husband.

The press will give this a pass, just like: the 5-star vacations, separate Air Force One flights, and lavish, sometimes secret, (Halloween) parties.
In Tim LaHaye’s Bible prophecy/fiction book, “Left Behind,”  head of the UN, Nicolas Carpathia (anti-Christ), gains control of the press first.

Investors Business Daily Op-Ed:
Economy: The latest economic data make it clear that President Obama’s policies aren’t helping the country get stronger. Rather, they’re smothering what should have been a solid recovery.
Real GDP climbed a less-than-expected 2.8% in final quarter of 2011, and just 1.7% for the entire year, down from 3% in 2010. The trend of subpar growth under Obama continues.

Opinion:
If we are as far along the Bible’s timeline as I think we are, look for the US to continue to slide. Especially if this President wins 4 more years.

The antichrist could only rise to power, like dictators of the past, when the world descends into chaos. Imagine the pandemonium that will occcur when a huge segmnent of Christians vanish. Chaos, panic and financial collapse will follow.

A ruler will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple.” Daniel 9:26 (NLT)

Daniel 9:27 describes the ruler as one who will make a seven-year treaty with Israel, put an end to the sacrifices and offerings, and set up a sacrilegious object of himself that causes the “abomination of desecration.” These are events that will be fulfilled in the life of the Antichrist. According to Daniel, the Antichrist will come from among the people who destroyed the Temple. The vast Roman Empire.
