Isaiah, writing 750 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, gave us the answer as to why Jesus’ robe will be bloodied when He appears in His second coming:
“Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with His garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of His strength?
“It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.” Why are Your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress?
“I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with Me. I trampled them in My anger and trod them down in My wrath; their blood spattered My garments, and I stained all My clothing.” Isaiah 63:1–3, emphasis added
On His way to save Israel, the Lord will take vengeance on Edom, putting an end to the hatred between Jacob (Jew) and Esau (Arab). The apostle John, reaffirming Isaiah on the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ, gives a stunning answer to Isaiah’s questions, “Who is this?” and “Why are Your garments red?”
All Israel will be saved (Romans 11:26):
After the Jews of Judea followed Jesus’ advice to flee to the mountains (Matthew 24:15-16) of Edom in southern Jordan, the prophet Zechariah 12:10 describes how a remnant (Zechariah 13:8) of the Jewish people will be saved:
“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.”
His Robe is Dipped in Blood,Rev. 19:13–16:
“He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of His mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.
He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.”
Note that the armies of saints have no blood on their fine linen robes. Jesus went to Bozrah alone. The Bridegroom would never take His bride (church) into battle.
Then, in Revelation 19:20, the Beast and False Prophet are thrown into the lake of fire.
