The New American: “A student is punished for refusing to “stomp on Jesus,” a Christian baker faces a year in jail for refusing to cater faux marriages, two men are arrested for reading the Bible aloud near a government building, a school “purges” Christian works from its library. Critics asserting the existence of an institutional anti-Christian bias, and a resultant war on the faith, have often been labeled paranoid.
But now two University of North Texas sociologists have produced research showing that just such an agenda exists — among America’s most powerful people.
Professors George Yancey and David Williamson shared their findings in their newly released book “So Many Christians, So Few Lions.”
Opinion: We are a pesky lot, we Christians. Imagine the nerve of us to believe that an ancient set of books are the actual word of God. Just how crazy are we Christians anyway?
“So few lions” is of course a lie. The hatred of the Church is growing all over the world evidenced by more Christians having died for their faith in the twentieth century than at any other time in history.
According to Christian Solidarity International: Global reports indicate that over 150,000 Christians were martyred last year, chiefly outside of the United States. However, statistics are changing: persecution of Christians is on the increase in the United States.
In Oregon last October, the gunman who opened fire at Umpqua Community College specifically targeted Christians asking one by one if they were Christian before shooting a point blank range, as did the San Bernardino shooters in December.
And Christian persecution will continue to grow right up to an event that will be celebrated by the secular progressive left. At some point either just prior to, or during the war the war of Ezekiel 38-39, as the children of Israel return to the land, the Church will vanish:
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
Just think, Christians gone and the Jews in Israel.
What could be better than that?
