The Weekly Standard: “White House press secretary Josh Earnest insisted that President Obama’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton will not “sway” the ongoing FBI investigation into Clinton.

The statement came after Obama released a video endorsing Clinton for president of the United States.

Later this afternoon, according to the White House, Obama is meeting with the attorney general. The meeting is “closed press.”

Opinion: How interesting. The President of the United States endorses a candidate for president that is under criminal investigation by the FBI.

That same president then meets privately with the Attorney General who was first appointed by the candidates husband (President Bill Clinton) in 1999 for the first of her two terms as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

Mrs. Lynch held that position she held until she joined the law firm of  Hogan & Hartson in March 2002.

And how interesting that according to documents Hillary Clinton’s first presidential campaign made public in 2008, Hogan & Hartson’s New York-based partner Howard Topaz was the tax lawyer who filed income tax returns for Bill and Hillary Clinton beginning in 2004.

While we are reassured by Secretary Clinton that there is not even a smidgen (Obama’s choice of words in the IRS investigation) of scandal brewing, this should be quite a show.
