Trump mulls Middle East peace conference

YNet News: US President Donald Trump is mulling the option to hold a peace conference in the Middle East in an effort to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, after speaking on Friday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Friday’s 10-minute phone call was the first between Trump and Abbas since the former took office. “The president emphasized his personal belief that peace is possible and that the time has come to make a deal,” the White House said. more

Opinion: Every president since Truman has dreamed of making the deal. The one who does it, will perhaps have the greatest legacy of all, or perhaps something else.

Back in the late 1980’s I used to display Donald Trumps’s book “The Art of the Deal” on our coffee table. I was working for a major Wall Street firm and making great deals was what got me up at 5 am each morning and what typically didn’t get me home until 8 PM.

I went to church in those days but didn’t know Jesus.

Donald Trump’s fame for being a deal maker will either fail, like all the other presidents before him, or it will succeed which will test our theories on the order of prophetic events.

I think we can rule out a stalemate since there is no halfway with this president.

On Friday we posted the headline “Trump Spoke With Abbas Invited Him to White House”. On Sunday morning the Arab website Al Jazeera reported:

“Abbas told Trump that peace was a strategic choice for the Palestinian people which should lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel.

The president emphasized a personal belief that peace is possible and that “the time has come to make a deal.”

Indeed, the ultimate deal would cement for Mr. Trump a legacy of being the greatest deal maker of all time – while at the same time casting him as Antichrist.

If you have been coming to this website any length of time you are very familiar with Daniel 9:27. If you are new, here it is again.

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”

The prophecy is all about that deal except Daniel called it a covenant. The many is considered to mean Israel and her neighbors, and one week (Hebrew, shabua) is 7 years.

Therefore, the middle of the week is 3.5 years, and most Bible teachers agree that he, is Antichrist, who will bring an end to sacrifice and offering, meaning:

Animal sacrifice must have previously started. And since sacrifices and offerings can only be done in a temple, the Jews will have received permission to build the prophesied third temple, from he, Antichrist.

The wing of Abominations is a reference to a previous abomination of desolation that took place in 165 BC when Antiochus Epiphanes (mad man) slaughtered a pig in the Holy of Holies, which led to cleansing of the temple, and the feast of Hanukkah.

What an interesting year this will be.

  1. Ynetnews quote: “The president noted that such a deal would not only give Israelis and Palestinians the peace and security they deserve, but that it would reverberate positively throughout the region and the world,”

See 1 Thessalonians 5:3 regarding “peace and security”.

You know that any peace agreement by a true Muslim would be Al-taqiyya on their part.
And I do not think that a peace agreement by a Palestinian leader who is motivated by greed “would reverberate positively throughout the region”.
In either case, it may trigger a reaction by the Muslim faithful of bringing “sudden destruction” upon them. (1 Thessalonians 5:3 KJB)

Regarding Daniel 9:27, did not Jesus’ death after 3 1/2 years (half of 7) as the Messiah bring an end to animal sacrifices. (Hebrews 9:12; Hebrews 10:9, 10)

Do you think Daniel 9:27 applies to Jesus’ sacrifice?

    • Interesting observations: Most Dispensational Bible teachers assign 1 Thess. 5:3 and Daniel 9:27 to the signing of the peace treaty and the onset of the 7 year tribulation. There is also a clue in Ezekiel 38:11 that speaks to peace and safety just before the Gog Magog invasion that is thought to be the last war prior to the beginning of the tribulation. Keep in mind that Daniel 9:27 deals with the construction of a new temple and Antichrist, whereas after Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, the temple was destroyed in AD 70.
