Jews Marrying Jews: That’s Apparently The Problem

Jewish Press: At the recent graduation ceremony of the Reform movement’s Hebrew Union College (HUC), Michael Chabon – a well-known anti-Israel activist – not only demonized the Jewish state but had the gall to attack Jewish endogamy (i.e., Jews marrying Jews). And yet, HUC Interim President Rabbi David Ellenson both welcomed him and subsequently reaffirmed HUC’s decision to host him.

Chabon’s hostility towards Israel is well-known. He has collaborated in the past with “Breaking the Silence” (BtS) – an anti-Israel organization that seeks “to expose the Israeli public to the reality of everyday life in the Occupied Territories” – and compiled an anthology together with his wife, Ayelet Waldman, called Kingdom of Olives and Ash: Writers Confront the Occupationmore …

Opinion: And Chabon is Jewish!

I would say Jews marring outside Judaism was/is the problem. In fact I would say it is the most catastrophic problem of the last 4000 years and it will lead to the wars at the end of this age.

In Deuteronomy 7:1-4 Moses warned the Jews when they came into the Promised Land: When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you—and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.

One thousand years later, Ezra 9:1-2 records that the returning Jews from Babylon indeed married the Canaanites (the same tribe that was recorded in Genesis 36:2 “Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan”), and also, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.

In the truest sense, Arabs have Jewish roots through Abraham by:
• Ishmael, illegitimate son of Abraham and Sarah’s Egyptian servant, Hagar
• Esau, Isaac’s son, who married outside the family line

Therefore, Arabs have a mixture of Jewish and Gentile blood. Malachi 1:1–3, later repeated by the apostle Paul in Romans 9:13, speaks about these twins in what could easily be one of the more controversial verses in the Bible: “Yet Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word for hate that is used here means to be an enemy, an adversary, a foe; and according to the Greek translation, hate means to be hated; detestable.

Mr. Chabon, the problem is the exact opposite, and you should know better.

“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.” Deuteronomy 7:6

  1. Great news that the book will be out soon. I will want a copy/copies. Also copies of the video if it will be for sale. I love your site. You pick the best articles and I love getting your’s and editor’s opinions. Thank you so much for all you do. God Bless you and yours.

    • Thank you, we hope to have the video ready in a week to 10 days and it will be a free tab on the website that will connect to Amazon or Barnes and Noble to purchase the book.

  2. I agree, Author. I have always wondered about self-hating/undermining or whatever you want to call them, jews. I wonder if it is tied to the scripture in Revelation where Jesus talks about jews who say they are jews, but are not. I have not yet found a suitable answer to this although I have read some on it. It’s so sad, though. And like you said, maybe its the mixed blood? Might be an answer that will have to wait until heaven.

BTW, how is your book coming?

    • Hi Shelley, I think Romans 9:6 “For they are not all Israel who are of Israel” speaks of divergent mixed Jewish and Gentile blood lines: Ishmael, Esau and the 6 sons of Abraham and Keturah.
Thanks for asking about the book. After many delays, some our fault and some the publisher, we are expecting a printed copy any day for final review. Also the video is coming together and God has brought together people from our church who we never knew had experience with filming videos and documentaries, which is the main purpose for the rewrite.
