Trump: Media Wants War With Russia

Daily Wire: The analysis has been unanimous: President Trump royally botched his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

But Trump has spent the last couple of days back in the White House defending himself, and on Thursday morning he summed up what he sees as the mainstream media’s motives.

CNN “journalist” Jim Acosta gave a typical readout of the leaders’ summit on Monday.

“It was astonishing, just astonishing, to be in a room with the U.S president and with the Russian president on this critical question of election interference and to hear the president of the United States retreat back to these talking points about DNC servers and Hillary Clinton’s emails when he had a chance, right there in front of us, right there in front of the world to confront Vladimir Putin and tell him to stay the hell out of American democracy, and he just didn’t do it,” Acosta said. more …

Opinion: Donald Trump’s tweet:

What is that all about? And why do the progressive neocons want war?

New York Times: April 11, 2018

“Imagine if Washington and Jerusalem were to develop a joint military plan designed to contain and degrade Iranian forces in Syria.

Even a limited American military commitment to a coordinated United States-Israeli strategy would immediately change the balance of power on the ground. It would most likely engender more diplomatic cooperation from Mr. Putin while sending a powerful message to Tehran about the necessity of respecting American demands regarding its nuclear program.”

Weekly Standard:

“The Obama administration was willing to cede Syria to Iran and Russia in order to preserve the Iran nuclear deal, then in its final stages…

[Today] U.S. credibility is at stake. Lobbing a few cruise missiles at an airfield may satisfy some high-ranking members of the foreign policy elite, but it won’t punish the Assad regime or deter it from future chemical attacks. The American response must involve enormous U.S. and allied firepower and bring heavy consequences on the Assad regime and its leader. The Israelis began the work with a Sunday night attack on the Tiyas Iranian airbase, but we hope the U.S. won’t let the Israelis do the hard work of retribution.”

Neocons are  defined as 1960s liberal hawks who became disenchanted with the increasingly pacifist foreign policy of the Democratic Party. Is there any doubt that if Trump had gone into Helsinki with guns blazing the same leftists would be screaming that he is starting a world war?
