Jewish Press: Since the 2016 referendum on staying in or leaving the European Union ended with 52% of UK voters preferring to continue on their own, thank you very much, individuals who had fled Nazi Germany to Britain and their descendants have been the majority of applicants for German passports, Deutsche Welle reported last week.
A total of 3,408 former German citizens who were deprived of citizenship on “political, racial, or religious grounds” — and their descendants — have used the German Constitution’s Article 116 which permits them to apply to renew their citizenship.
Altogether, 3,731 UK citizens have applied for German citizenship since 2016, presumably making Jews 91.3% of all applicants. more …
Opinion: From the frying pan to the fire.
Our post from October 19 “Anti-racism Rally in Berlin Calls For The Destruction Of Israel” (here) would indicate that the best place for the Jewish people to make a home is Israel.
“then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer.” Ezekiel 39:28
The scene is the end of the still future war of Gog and Magog. Three reluctant nations will attack Israel from the north and four from the south (Ez. 38:1-6) in a war of annihilation that will end in still another victory for the Jewish state.
Israel will not have to lift a finger because in a sequel to so many wars that Israel has fought since entering the promised land, God will once again be her protector (Ez. 38:18-21)
The defining difference between this war and so many others is that this one will lead to a seven year period that is called ‘the time of Jacob’s trouble’ (Jer. 30:7). And it will be during that seven year period that Jesus will reach out to spiritually save His people at His return.
With the church safely in the New Jerusalem (Heb. 11:10, 12:22-24, 13:14; Rev. 21:1-4), God will turn His complete attention to Israel. He will anoint 144,000 male Jewish evangelists (Rev. 7:1-8) to reach out to His people globally to bring the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Next, He will place His two witnesses in Jerusalem (Rev. 11:3), the very place that Antichrist will try to take over:
“And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth” (Rev. 11:3).
… they will be a constant irritant to the man of sin but he will not be able to stop their evangelizing:
“And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner” (Rev. 11:5).
Israel will be the safest place to be in the entire world until the middle of the 7 years when Antichrist stands in the new temple and declares himself god (Dan. 9;27). It is at that point Antichrist will try to kill all the remaining Jews Dan. 11:41):
“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains” (Mat. 24:15-16).
It is in the mountains of Esau’s former home, Mt. Seir, that the Jews will be protected and saved:
“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn son” (Zech. 12:10).
