Debkafile: Like Washington, Moscow is averse to the Turkish army moving into northern Syrian Kurdish lands after the Americans leave. Yet on Wednesday, Jan. 9, Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called for the US pullout from Syria to be controlled jointly by Turkey, Russia and Iran, because the US “has been facing several difficulties amid the process of withdrawal” and in order for “terrorist organizations not to fill in the void.”
He spoke the day after President Tayyip Erdogan refused to receive US National Security Adviser John Bolton in a deliberate snub. Turkish sources now report that Erdogan will shortly visit Moscow to discuss this joint effort with President Vladimir Putin. This was not confirmed by the Kremlin.
DEBKAfile’s military sources add that the Turkish leader has been holding aloft his anti-American stance in the hope of clearing the way for a Turkish offensive against Kurds to go forward in northeastern Syria. This gimmick is unlikely to achieve its purpose in Moscow because Putin is just as opposed to his schemes as US President Donald Trump. more …
Opinion: Turkish-Russian-Iranian control? Somebody call somebody!
We must be getting close to a war that will put Israel in a false peace, because Ezekiel’s war that will be led by Russia-Turkey-Iran feels like it can happen at any moment.
“Persia, Cush “and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.” Ezekiel 38:5-6 NIV
It will be the most spectacular victory in history. Imagine a Russian-Turkish-Iranian-North African alliance converging on the tiny nation of Israel from every direction:
That the US is leaving Syria fits perfectly, since there will be no nation which comes to Israel’s side. And according to the text, Israel might not fire a shot:
“This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, My hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord. In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.” Ezekiel 38:19-20 NIV
In like manner of many wars from antiquity (Judges 7:22; 1 Chronicles 20:20-23) God will turn the enemy against each other: ” … Every man’s sword will be against his brother …” (Ezekiel 38:21 NIV).
But it can’t happen just yet, Israel is not living in false peace:
You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars” (Ezekiel 38:11).
