Physics (.org): A pair of biomedical law experts, one with McGill University the other Stanford University, are suggesting in a Policy Forum piece in the journal Science that it might be time to expand the legal term for “human.” In their paper, Bartha Knoppers and Henry Greely argue that recent technological advances have come to blur the line between what is human and what is not, and thus, new terminology is needed.

Over the past few decades, scientists have been carrying out research in which  and non-human cells are mixed, resulting in tissue that could be classified as either human or non-human—grafting or transplanting organs or tissues from animals onto humans, for example, or growing organs in an animal for later transplantation into a human. Also, the development of the CRISPR gene-editing technology allows for changing the genome of a person into something that may not exist in nature.

Knoppers and Greely argue that such technology requires a new look at the word “human”. Read More …

Opinion: When my friend Vason sent me this post I wrote back “This one is above my pay grade”. But after a few hours it kept bothering me so here is my attempt to make sense out of it.

The people who advance theories that are the antithesis of Biblical teaching appear non-nonchalant in bringing ideas and concepts that place science above the Creator God.

“He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.” Genesis 5:2

I was told once by an academic, that academics do not consider Scripture and commentaries to be scholarship and therefore the Bible cannot be considered in academic writings. God is out – Darwin is in.

“Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!” Isaiah 5:21

A woe expresses grief or regret, a condition of deep suffering like a death. Wisdom, we are told comes from fear of the Lord (Proverbs 9:10), therefore, without God there is no wisdom. Therefore a person can be really smart and lack wisdom.

Wisdom: Without accepting the Son, and the pardon for sin, the soul has a dead spirit.

As we get closer to the end of this 6th dispensation called the ‘church age’, we are seeing a falling away from the fear of the Lord and a rise of secular humanist thinking.

Revelation 16:9 teaches that when the judgments of God reach their fullness, instead of repentance, many on earth will fall further.

“And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.” Revelation 16:9

What will be the most frightening thing that men and women who reject the pardon for sin will face is not just death, but full knowledge of Who it is they rejected.

For it is written:

As I live, says the Lord,
Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God.” Romans 14:11
