The Yeshiva World: A knife-wielding man stormed into the Monsey home of the Kossoner Rebbe (Rabbi Rottenberg) and stabbed five people as they celebrated Chanukah, an ambush the governor said Sunday was an act of domestic terrorism fueled by intolerance and a “cancer” of growing hatred in America.
Police tracked a fleeing suspect to Manhattan and made an arrest within hours of the attack Saturday night in Monsey. Grafton E. Thomas had blood all over his clothing and smelled of bleach when officers stopped him, prosecutors said.
UPDATE: Authorities are investigating whether Grafton Thomas, the man charged in a machete attack in Monsey last night, is tied to the recent brutal assault and stabbing in Monsey that has been unsolved. In that stabbing, a 29-year-old Mordechai Schlesinger was stabbed as he walked to Shul early one morning.
UPDATE: A highly credible (unconfirmed) law-enforcement source tells YWN that the Monsey stabbing attack suspect ,Thomas E. Grafton, is a RECENT MUSLIM CONVERT. Read More …
Opinion: From Arutz Sheva headline December 24, four days before Saturday’s attack:
“The Only Way to Protect American and European Jews”
A Divine plan? Consider that there were 16,000 Jews in Israel in 1920 and today, only 100 years later, there are 6.5 million Jews. That is an increase of 406 times!
Also consider that there were 6 million Jews in the United States 50 years ago, and today there are, maybe, four million Jews. How do you explain that every other American minority group increased in size since 1960, except the Jews?
This is the diaspora, where Jews must hire non-Jews to protect their synagogues, their schools, and patrol their streets.
Today in the United States, Jewish schools and synagogues are closing, Jewish institutions are consolidating to hide their enormous losses, and the fabled Jewish hospitals and social service agencies are busy serving everyone but Jews. Also today, student savages on university campuses wage violent anti-Israel demonstrations and break up meetings called by Jews.
The dispersion (diaspora) of the Jews to all parts of the world for disobedience to the Lord began in 70 AD with the destruction of the second temple by the Roman army under General Titus.
“And the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known. And among these nations you shall find no respite, and there shall be no resting place for the sole of your foot, but the Lord will give you there a trembling heart and failing eyes and a languishing soul.”
The dispersion will end (Amos 9:15) after the future victory Israel will have when the Gog Magog armies are miraculously defeated (Ezekiel 38:18-22), and the descendants of Jacob are called home to protect them from the coming time of trouble (Jeremiah 30:7).
“then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who sent (dispersed) them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer”
