Why are there more wars in the Middle East than anywhere else?

Syrian residents leave Aleppo's Bustan al-Qasr neighbourhood after pro-government forces captured the area in the eastern part of the war torn city on December 13, 2016. After weeks of heavy fighting, regime forces were poised to take full control of Aleppo, dealing the biggest blow to Syria's rebellion in more than five years of civil war. / AFP PHOTO / George OURFALIANGEORGE OURFALIAN/AFP/Getty Images

Opinion: Genesis 15:18

“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates…”

The your in the verse is Abraham’s descendants and the I is the Creator God. Abraham’s descendants have never had possession of those boundaries … yet.

The land was promised to Jacob Genesis 27:28-29 NIV and not to Esau Genesis 27:39:40 NIV. Jacob’s love for the land is passed on to his descendants and Esau’s rage (27:41) over squandering his inheritance (Genesis 25:29-34) as first born, is passed on as well.

So great is Jacob’s love for that land that he is willing to share it with Esau, but Esau will have none of that, and demands all the land with no trace of Jacob.

The God-hating world favors Esau. You can see that in the nations being torn apart by one kind of racism, while anti-Semitism flourishes. One day, possibly very soon, the world will have to come to grips with the final solution Part II (Daniel 9:27).

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate”

The he: A world leader will rise, quite possibly from the same mixed Jewish/Gentile blood as Esau and his illegitimate grandson Amalek (Exodus 17:16). Like Muhammad he will try to win over the Jews first. He will allow a temple for animal sacrifice, and after 3.5 years, like Muhammad, the Jews will reject him and in a rage (like Esau) will demand worship (Matthew 24:15-16).

From there it will be a second Holocaust (Jeremiah 30:7). The war will engulf the whole world (Daniel 11:40-45). The death toll for Jacob will be staggering (Ezekiel 13:8) but a remnant will be saved (Zechariah 12:10; Romans 11:26-27).

The final war will only end when the King of Kings puts an end to Esau (Isaiah 63:1-3) and returns to earth in great glory (Revelation 19:11=16).

I put the whole story together for you in a paper called “Two Trains: Israel and the Church in Prophecy” here
