In this photo provided by Lebanon's official government photographer Dalati Nohra, Lebanese President Michel Aoun speaks during an address to the nation at the presidential palace, in Baabda, east of Beirut, Lebanon, Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019. Aoun barely mentioned the month-long protests in his speech. He said consensus on government formation remained far off because of “contradictions that control Lebanese politics.” He didn’t elaborate. (Dalati Nohra via AP)

Breaking Israel News: A recent statement by Lebanon’s president suggested that he would be receptive to an agreement with Israel similar to the one signed with the United Arab Emirates. The announcement has huge political and security implications, suggesting that Hezbollah may be on its way out, but, more importantly, a pact of brotherhood with Lebanon would be an element in the construction of the Third Temple as it was in the days of King Solomon.

In an interview with French-language BFM TV on Saturday night, Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun was asked if he would consider making a peace agreement with Israel as the United Arab Emirates had just done.

“That depends,” Aoun responded. “We have problems with Israel and we have to resolve them first.” Read More …

Opinion: Problems? A vast understatement.

Problem #1. Lebanon is listed 2 times in the future Psalm 83:1-8 invasion of Israel

Gebal – Ancient name for northern Lebanon

The inhabitants of Tyre – Incredibly, the temple priest Asaph prophesied that southern Lebanon would be inhabited by a people group. Today, the Iranian-backed terror group  Hezbollah ‘inhabits’ southern Lebanon, fulfilling part of the prophecy.

The rest of the prophecy will be fulfilled when the whole alliance (here) with Jordan (Ammon, Moab, Edom), Amalek (Sinai), Philistia (Gaza), Ishmaelites (Saudi Arabia), and Egypt ( attack.

Problem #2. When the number of Arab nations making peace with Israel comprise the ‘many’ (Daniel 9:27), Antichrist will be in control of the revived Roman Empire (Daniel 9:27). A temple will have been built, and animal sacrifices restored, as Antichrist breaks the peace by demanding the Jews worship him. When they refuse, the great tribulation (Matthew 24:21) will commence.

Problem #3. Historically, when Arab or Israeli leaders attempt to make peace, assassinations or other fatal incidents have occurred:

Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, initiated serious peace negotiations with Israel, an achievement for which he shared the 1978 Nobel Prize for Peace with Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin. Sadat was assassinated during the annual victory parade held in Cairo to celebrate Operation Badr in 1981.

Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated on November 4, 1995 at 21:30, at the end of a rally in support of the Oslo Accords with Yasser Arafat, at the Kings of Israel Square in Tel Aviv.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon suffered a hemorrhagic stroke on January 4, 2006, after initiating the Gaza Disengagement Plan in 2005 that removed 8000 Israeli families from their homes in an attempt to make peace with the Arab Palestinians. Sharon remained in a long-term care facility in a vegetative state from late 2006 until his death. Sharon died at 14:00 on January 11, 2014.

Problem #4. One prerequisite of the peace plan will be a Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem that will divide God’s land in violation of Genesis 12:3, 17:7-8; Joel 3:1-2.

Arab peace treaties are an ominous sign that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
