Is the EU banning American credit cards?

Euro News: Viral social media posts are claiming that the European Union wants to get rid of American payment cards such as Visa and Mastercard, as well as foreign online payment platforms like PayPal and Alipay.

Some posts on X say that European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde announced that she’s planning to replace the payment systems with European alternatives.

One post in Dutch even says that Lagarde wants to replace these payment methods with the central bank’s incoming digital euroRead More…

Opinion: The Digital Euro Project is making progress with a noticeable decline in paper money usage, giving the European Central Bank (ECB) an incentive to keep all payments on the continent.

From 2016 to 2024, cash usage in the EU went from 79% to 52%.

ECB Chief admitted the EU planning “digital Euro” for Over 5 Years

The European Central Bank (ECB) plans to launch a central bank digital currency (CBDC), known as the digital euro, by October 2025. ECB President Christine Lagarde emphasized that the governing council must decide soon whether to proceed with the initiative.

The ECB estimates that the digital euro will replace five out of every ten euros currently in cash circulation. Lagarde has called for swift legislative action to establish the necessary legal framework, highlighting the digital euro’s importance for the European Union’s competitiveness and economic resilience. Five out of 10 euros to be replaced by Europe’s version of ‘surveillance’ in the form of money, until all euros are replaced by the central bank version.

It is uncanny that over 130 central banks are quietly at some level of digital currency whether in research, pilot programs, or have already implemented a national digital currency, while their nations’ citizens vehemently denounce it.

With the war in Ukraine still raging, the EU has an urgent motivation:

European Commission to use 10 trillion euros of citizens’ savings for EU defence

The European Commission estimates the total level of unused savings of EU citizens at 10 trillion Euros, and it intends to find ways to mobilise this money to finance its plans to militarise Europe and support the European military-industrial complex, according to a statement by European Commissioner.

“A large part of Europeans’ savings lies in the form of deposits at very low interest rates (between 0.3 and 0.8 percent per annum) and even in the form of cash reserves. Mobilising even a small part of these resources will change the investment landscape in the EU,” the European Commissioner said  (source).

Perhaps the EU will entice savers to part with a few trillion euros in exchange for a 50 year government bond with a 3% return to build the EU army. Perhaps the digital euro will become the economic infrastructure for the Beast government of Antichrist.

Three economic prophecies that could be fulfilled due to digital currency:

  • Revelation 6:5-6 brings global hyperinflation
  • Revelation 13:16-17 brings the mark of the beast
  • Revelation 18:11 brings the final collapse of the global economy

AI search: Does the Bible prophesy about a European army in the end times?

Yes, some interpretations of Bible prophecy, particularly those centered on Daniel’s prophecies and Revelation, suggest a powerful European power or army will play a significant role in the end timesThis power, often referred to as the “Beast power” or the “European superpower,” is envisioned as rising from the area of the old Roman Empire, potentially encompassing ten nations. This power is also seen as having a powerful military presence and engaging in conflict with other global powers, including a confederacy of nations from the Middle East, as depicted in Daniel 11:40.

“At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him (Antichrist); and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through.”

On September 13, 2017, in his State of the Union speech before the EU council, Jean Claude Junker suggested combining his own job with that of Council President Donald Tusk, said this:

“Europe would be easier to understand if one captain was steering the ship” — Jean-Claude Juncker

If I am correct in thinking that Antichrist is already on earth today, Junker will get his wish. Antichrist will emerge from obscurity among 10 future leaders, and will have a digital currency already in place. He will be the 11th king of revived Rome found in Daniel 7:8:

“I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.”
