Jerusalem On Line Op-Ed: About a month ago, the US State Department released the 2016 Country Reports on Terrorism, one of the most virulent condemnations of the Israeli government.

The report characterizes Palestinian Arab calls for terrorism and violence against Israel as “rare,” stating: “Explicit calls for violence against Israelis, direct exhortations against Jews, and categorical denials by the Palestinian Authority (PA) of the possibility of peace with Israel are rare, and the leadership does not generally tolerate it.”

The Tillerson report rebukes Israel for the absence of peace, declaring a “lack of hope” as a “driver” for any Arab Palestinian violence.” more …

Opinion: The paragraph on page 197 of the report (here) summarizes several lies that are so deep in the psyche of the made-up Palestinian people that only a son of Edom could believe them.

“Continued drivers of violence included a lack of hope in achieving Palestinian statehood, Israeli settlement construction in the West Bank, settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, the perception that the Israeli government was changing the status quo on the Haram Al Sharif/Temple Mount, and IDF tactics that the Palestinians considered overly aggressive.”

Violence has been falsely justified due to a lack of hope that should never have been given. The state of Jordan was created in 1922 for the very purpose of a state for Arab people since the majority of the refugees that were in the area at the time were from Jordan, and a smaller number from Egypt.

A bit of history is necessary:

  • The Ottoman Empire sided with Germany in World War I and subsequently collapsed. All 6.7 million square miles of land was divided among the allies. Britain was awarded the area of Palestine and designated both sides of the Jordan River as a home for the Jewish people.
  • The 1948 War of Independence ended in an armistice allowing Jordan to annex the West Bank.
  • In the 1967 war, Israel took control of the West Bank, Gaza, Sinai and the Golan Heights.

There is no reason for an Arab state inside Israel. Arabs have 22 states of their own but it seems the US Secretary of State doesn’t know or care.

  1. Hmmmm. I thought this was an Israel friendly administration. We have seen as much or more flip flopping with Trump and gang as we have with any recent past collection of White House “dimwits.” First, the embassy is to be in Jerusalem, then it’s not. West bank settlements are OK, then they’re not. Some top admin officials are pro Israel, while others like Tillerson blame the “occupiers” for the region’s problems. A house divided eventually falls. Has anyone read Matthew 12:22-32 lately? Of course not! The Bible is just myths and fables evinced by ignorant sandal clad fisherman who never went to UC Berkeley. This would be laughable if it weren’t so tragic.

  2. It’s disheartening to see this administration rebuke Israel so strongly. Decisions like these come with consequences (Genesis 12:3).
