Chapter 1 – What does the Bible say about Prophecy?

Deuteronomy 18:22 “When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true that is the word that the Lord has not spoken.”

Amos 3:7 “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.”

2 Peter 1:21 “For no prophecy was made by an act of human will but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”

DEFINITIONS:

Eschatology: Derived from 2 Greek words meaning ‘last’ and ‘study’. It is the study of end time events.

Prophecy: Bible prophecy is the past, present, and future work of Jesus Christ.

Prophet: A man, chosen by God, inspired to speak God’s message to reveal the future to man.
