Fox News: “Vice President Joe Biden said Monday night that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government was leading the country “in the wrong direction” hours after a bus bombing in Jerusalem wounded at least 21 people.
In a speech to the Israel advocacy group J Street, Biden criticized Palestinian leaders, but saved his harshest words for Israeli officials.
“I firmly believe that the actions that Israel’s government has taken over the past several years — the steady and systematic expansion of settlements, the legalization of outposts, land seizures — they’re moving us and more importantly they’re moving Israel in the wrong direction,” Biden said.”
Opinion: In the wake of a new phase of the stabbing intifada, the Vice President neglected to recount the details of the bus bombing that occurred only hours earlier.
A Palestinian man boarded a bus in east Jerusalem yesterday. He sat in the back directly above the engine, waited for the bus driver to pull up next to another bus, as they often do, before setting off the explosive igniting both buses.
Sixteen-year-old Eden Dadon, who was severely burned in Monday’s bus attack, is currently on a respirator at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital. Eden’s mother recalled: “Suddenly I saw her with burns and her whole skin peeling. She told me, ‘Mom it hurt, it burns.’ Eden sat on the floor and couldn’t move. She asked me to bring her water but I didn’t have any.”
But to the Vice President of the United States, Eden’s burns were the fault of the Israeli government building housing for its citizens in their eternal capital.
Esau would be so proud.
