BPT News ‘Person Of The Year’

There are many Person of the Year awards being posted across the internet. Only one person stands head and shoulders above them all as far as I am concerned, and that is my wife/best friend/editor.

My wife nursed her dying mother from Mother’s Day 2016 to just before Mother’s Day 2017 when our beloved Clara went home to the Lord. Three months later she became a nurse again after my diagnosis with a blood infection. After two separate stays in the hospital, I was prescribed IV antibiotics 24/7 for 6 weeks at home.

As Hurricane Irma approached, my wife was given a crash course in mixing and infusing the medications that had to be administered 5 times a day.

During both illnesses my wife kept a God-centered outlook, hosted our children’s visits, took care of pets, (dog) Gracie and (cat) Francie, and never missed editing a post or composing a Sunday Study.

God has richly blessed our family with our ‘Woman of the Year’.

  1. I know you both are very humble, so I am giving all glory to God in this. I thank Him for the two of you. Care giving is one of the hardest things (actually, I think the hardest thing) I have ever had to do. I understand why you chose your wife as BPT News Person of the year, Author. Ever since I first read Proverbs 31, I wanted to follow her example in order to make God smile. I am sure you have the same kind of heart, Editor. “Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” ” And note: “Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.” He is respected and his opinions valued. Is there anything better for a man and woman to achieve in their lives? As we see the institution of family disintegrate before our eyes, this post is so encouraging. I am so thankful for you both – and your family. I look forward to meeting you all soon. And that goes for the whole BPT family. I know there are many out there who don’t comment, and you are all a part of our forever family, too! We will know each other and we will stand shoulder to shoulder and sing praises to Him. Soon and very soon… we are going to see our KING!!!!! God Bless

    • To Shelley and all of our bptnews community: We thank you for your support always. I think the only ‘award’ I could ever hope to receive would be the ‘crown’ in 2 Tim 4:8, “Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” Because I truly look forward to His appearing and taking me to be with Him forever; to look at His face and His glory and fall on my face before Him! And as I said to VS, “I will gladly cast my ‘crown’ down at His feet” (Rev. 4:10-11), for it is only Him, our triune God, who has loved me out of eternal death.
