Can the Temple Mount be a Trading Card to Entice the Saudis?

Israeli flag over Jerusalem

JPost: US President Donald Trump didn’t even pause when asked by a reporter in Washington if Saudi Arabia would follow the United Arab Emirates, which last week signed a peace deal with Israel to normalize ties.

“I do,” he said on Wednesday.

It was as if the Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan had not just hours earlier announced that his country had no intention of signing a peace deal with Israel prior to its withdrawal to the pre-1967 lines within the context of a final status agreement for a two-state solution with the Palestinians

Trump’s son-in-law and Special Adviser Jared Kushner has been more cautious about Saudi Arabia, when predicting which countries might agree to recognize Israel prior to any deal with the Palestinians, noting that it would happen, but perhaps not right away. Read More …

Opinion: The Temple Mount as a bargaining chip sends shiver down my spine. It was the secular Israeli General Moshe Dayan, who after winning a miraculous victory in 1967, determined that it was a good idea to hand the Temple Mount over to Jordan in an effort to keep peace.

It didn’t work. Jews in Israel are not even allowed to pray on the holiest site the world. It is the place from where Yeshua, the Messiah, will rule and reign for 1000 years (Revelation 20:1-20).

The Temple Mount would be the crown jewel for the Saudis who already control the two holiest Islamic sites in the world: Mecca and Medina.

And it will be the crown jewel for the coming Antichrist when once again Jerusalem will fall into Gentile hands.

All eyes on Jerusalem:

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem.” Zechariah 12:2

The fall of Jerusalem will not come easily as God will intervene as He has so many times when Israel was near defeat (Judges 7:19-24; 2 Chronicles 20:20-24; Six Day War of 1967).

And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. Zechariah 12:3

… and look how similar Zechariah 12:4

In that day,” says the Lord, “I will strike every horse with confusion, and its rider with madness; I will open My eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.”

… is with the future Gog Magog war, Ezekiel 38:21-22

“I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.”

Best not to bargain with Jerusalem, Mr. President.
