CBO Report on National Debt Paints Grim Picture

36a8d07dd26899a79ac1dc38598b635b_XLThe New American: “The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has released a grim report regarding projected federal spending and revenues, concluding that the present course of deficit spending cannot continue indefinitely.

CBO Director Keith Hall told reporters, “This is an unsustainable path here for federal debt. At some point, it’s going to get to a very high level. Obviously, you can’t predict tipping points, but at some point this becomes a problem.”

It is a stark commentary on the magnitude of just how much federal deficits have exploded in recent years, that this year’s deficit is forecast to “fall” to $426 billion, which would be the lowest level during the presidency of Barack Obama. The record annual deficit was $1.4 trillion in 2009, the first year of Obama’s tenure, when the government dramatically increased spending, following flawed Keynesian economic theory in a futile attempt to pull the country out of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.”

Opinion: I am going to sound like a broken record, again. The article is correct but once again without the sure and perfect word of Bible prophecy, we miss where it is all going.

While there is great debate among Christian scholars, I believe that the Book of Revelation gives us a timeline:

  • Chapters 1-3 – The Church Age
  • Chapter 4 -5  The Rapture and the Throne Room
  • Chapter 6-12 – The 7 year Tribulation begins
  • Chapters 13-18 The Great Tribulation
  • Chapters 19-22 The Second Coming and the 1000 year Reign of Christ

The economic collapse is in Revelation 6:5-6.

Now, if only John had said when …

(Note: Bible Study Fellowship will study the Book of Revelation for the first time beginning on Monday, September 14, thru May, 2016. Classes are offered in most cities in the US and in hundreds of locations around the world. For information www.BSFinternational.org)

  1. Apparently you don’t care about the warnings that have been mentioned above and in past times. I’m dusting off my feet.

  2. I live in Madison (Freedom From Religion, anyone?) and I was going to attend BSF until i talked to my friend and she told me that when she showed up with all her commentary’s, etc., she was told they don’t use them there. I decided not to attend. So, yes, Nannette, I hear you. I think there may be some variation, from what I hear, but some of that variation is very bad.

    • I didn’t just not go to BSF, I also did some research after I talked to my friend and found out the same as you, Nannette. They say we women are more easily deceived (???), so we have to be that much more discerning, I figure.

      • Thank you Shelley for checking stuff out for yourself. Eve was the one deceived, but Adam was responsible. I guess some churches call it the Jezebel spirit. They go a little bit further and say we should not speak at all and treat us like pet dogs (nice doggy, sit, now no barking). I will not be silent if what they are saying is not according to God’s word. J. Vernon McGee said in his commentary of 1 Corinthians 14:34 . “Now what is he talking about here? Tongues. He is not saying that a woman is not to speak in church; he is saying that she is not to speak in tongues in the church. My friend, if you take the women out of the tongues movement, it would die overnight. You may say, “That’s not a nice thing to say,” I know it’s not nice, but it’s true.” end of quote. I laughed the first time I read that. 1 Corinthians 15:35&36 says, “And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. What came the word of God out from you or came it unto your only?” What if your husband is not a believer? On another note, by bible study partner lady friend left a church that has a women prophetess! Most of them are in the Assembly’s of God churches, but other churches are following in their steps. Blessings!!

        • We had a similar controversy over members of our Church that came out in favor of same-sex marriage. I/we cannot fulfill the Great Commission by isolating ourselves. BSF homework keeps us in the Word daily, and the fellowship has led to Christian relationships that have blessed and enriched our lives.

          • Author, I bet they are still in your church. I thought the church was for born again believers. The apostles did not ‘invite’ people to church to win them to Christ. The churches are full of goats. Some go to get free food, housing and clothing. I know people who go to the Seventh Day Adventist Church just for the potlucks on Saturday and go anther church on Sunday also hoping for another potluck. If people agree with murder, then they are goats pure and simple. If they are not, they need to repent, be told to repent, because murder is sin. “But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed. But let him glorify God ion this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God; and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:15-17. In Romans 1:32 it says that if a person has pleasure in them that do them are just as worthy of death.

    • Hey Nannette, I hope all is well with you and that HAARP & Fukushima haven’t made your neck of the woods uninhabitable just yet.

Since you’re a picky eater, stay away from tuna:

As for Bible Study Fellowship: I’ve had some exposure to BSF and haven’t experienced anything close to what was detailed in the article you linked. I’m not saying what that person experienced wasn’t real but it certainly is far different where I attended and will attend this coming Fall.

Because humans are teaching and participating, there will inevitably be groups around the country that don’t line up perfectly with the Word of God. Actually, all of them will be flawed in some respect. My only advice would be to focus on your local chapter and see what they are teaching.

Even analyzing your local chapter can be tricky because no teacher will be perfect in all areas. For instance, my teacher this Fall is a gifted instructor/mentor but all of us in the class still have to deal with the fact his family lineage comes from southern Italy. So, as gifted as this person is, we’re still faced with that issue.

Have a great weekend and God bless!

      • VS, would you say the word ‘interdenominational’ churches would include these churches? Seventh Day Adventist, Episcopal, Mormon, Lutheran and Roman Catholic’s, etc? Audrey Wetherell Johnson began BSF. She was a missionary and taught Bible Study and was a interdenominationalist (Ecumenist). According to scripture, women are not to teach men, (1 Timothy 2:12). Billy Graham knew that. It has been already established he was Ecumenist. Billy Graham believed and said, ” ALL would go to heaven whether they believed in God or not.” See link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interdenominational I already left a church a long time ago who had a false prophetess, Ellen G. White. As far as the Fukushima issue there is a message that could be taught here. When one eats contaminated food, it eventually will make you sick, there is no nutrition in contaminated food. Radiation is cumulative like a back aches, it does not go away. I was listening to a well know preacher until recently who all the sudden revealed he read books from monks. The problem with that is (monks and desert fathers) is that they are not born again. I had to stop listening to him because we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. I’m just saying we all need to be on guard. Blessings!
