On our trip to Israel last May, we made a surprise stop that was very familiar to Author and me. Our destination was called the Shepherds’ Fields, between Jerusalem and Bethlehem, the place where special sheep were raised in ancient times. Both the shepherds and sheep held important significance because these sheep were not for human consumption, they were only for sacrifice in the Temple.
A small Catholic church is now at the location were the ancient tower once stood in which shepherds used to watch over the flock.
We are amazed at how the Migdal Eder account concerning the birth of our Savior is one of our most searched for posts throughout the entire year.
