Reuters News: “The offensive, one of the biggest shifts in momentum of the five year civil war, has brought government forces closer than they have been in years to a border crossing with Turkey that has served as the main supply route into rebel-held territory.

There would be no letup in an army advance, which aimed “to liberate cities and villages that were controlled by the terrorists for 3-1/2 years, and also an attempt to liberate the city of Aleppo from the crimes of terrorism”, Shaaban said.

Damascus intended “to control our borders with Turkey, because Turkey is the main source of terrorists, and the main crossing for them”.

heathenOpinion: “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. Psalm 2:1-3

The Psalmist is amazed that kings of the earth would plot against the Lord. And yet the kings of the earth are in Syria plotting and planning against God’s anointed as I write this.

The three main Ezekiel 38 armies or kings, Russia, Iran and Turkey are in Syria today. They plot and form alliances that are destined to fail. The armies will one day be joined by the kings of North Africa (Ez 38:1-6) to take plunder (Ez.38:13) from Israel, and according to Ezekiel 38:18-23, the kings and their armies will fall on the mountains of Israel as the Lord turns the invaders against each other in confusion.

Some where along the way, Damascus, the world’s oldest inhabited city will meet it’s fate (Is.17:1,14), and the kings will still not turn to the Lord.

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” Psalm 2:4
