Newsmax:  A military judge ruled Friday that Bowe Bergdahl should serve no prison time for endangering his comrades by walking off his Afghanistan post.

The sentence caps a politically divisive episode that centered on one soldier’s decision that affected many other lives. President Barack Obama was criticized for trading Taliban prisoners to bring him back. As a presidential candidate, Donald Trump had called for Bergdahl to face stiff punishment.

The judge also gave Bergdahl a dishonorable discharge, reduced his rank to private and said he must forfeit pay equal to $1,000 per month for 10 months. The judge made no other comments. more …

Opinion: The whole sordid Bergdahl story will forever be a reminder of the worst president in US history – Barack Obama.

  1. Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, desertion (Article 87) during time of war is punishable by execution – usually by a firing squad – not platitudes in the WH rose garden. But, to add more insult to this country (and potential injury), to gain the release of one criminal for the release of 5 other criminals is unconscionable and falls into the scope of rebuke noted in Isaiah 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” obama, as commander in chief, is the worst disgrace this country has yet seen. And as for Susan Rice…the only person shadier than her is Hillary Clinton – maybe also Loretta Lynch (Sorry, women have risen a bit in today’s political world).
