Did China just launch the Mark of the Beast? Mandatory by 2020

Shofar Blast: The Chinese government is building an omnipotent ‘social credit’ system that is meant to rate each citizen’s trustworthiness,” writes the BBC.

A way to rate obedience and enthusiasm with the party line, complete with rewards and punishments, all tied together with purchase tracking and social shaming.  Book of Revelation, anyone?

Though that is every bit as creepily terrifying as it sounds, citizens may still choose whether or not they wish to opt-in — that is, until the program becomes compulsory in 2020.

“Going under the innocuous name of ‘Sesame Credit,’ China has created a score for how good a citizen you are,”. more …

Opinion: George Orwell, “1984”:

“Nothing that he does is indifferent. His friendships, his relaxations, his
behavior towards his wife and children, the expression of his face when he is
alone, the words he mutters in sleep, even the characteristic movements of his
body, are all jealously scrutinized. Not only any actual misdemeanor, but any
eccentricity, however small, any change of habits, any nervous mannerism that
could possibly be the symptom of an inner struggle, is certain to be detected. He
has no freedom of choice in any direction whatever.”

Revelation 13:5-7 AD 68:

“And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.”

Coming to a Christ rejecting world (Daniel 9:23).

  1. Good points, all. I watched a documentary about the building of the Terra Cotta army in China and how the people at that time also got points for ratting out their family, friends, and co-workers that did anything against the rulers of that tlme. So, now it’s back. I can’t imagine anything more evil. It brings to mind Matthew 10:21 “Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child;…” and Matthew 24:10 “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.” Now it is in regard to the government, but soon it will be in regard to Jesus. There are news stories that revival is sweeping through China. Time is running out. This truly is a chilling story that may shock some out of their complacency. Praying it will.

  2. Psalm 37/VS: Good points from both of you! It is the Antichrist that demands the mark given to all who want to buy and sell – essentially, exist. He will not be unveiled until the church is gone (2 Thess 2:7-8). However, the stage is being set now throughout the world with actions so described above – prophecy is a good witness tool. If it can be shown that the Bible predicted such actions then the “enlightened” Berkeleyite might pause and take notice. “I show you these things so when you see these things you will believe” (John 14:29).

  3. Have you ever stood real close to a giant mosaic and walked backwards so you could see the design slowly take shape? Take a look at this one in Taiwan:

From up close it looks like a random collection of plastic bottles. At a distance however, a Van Gogh masterpiece takes shape. It is a testament to the difficulties of the artist creating something so complex. Now imagine the design involved in creating…well, everything? The mosaic of creation is so gargantuan and complex it’s almost impossible to appreciate. The mind can’t possibly comprehend the magnitude. But with prophetic scripture, which is “the past, present, and future work of Jesus Christ,” one can see the pieces of God’s work coming together and…be in awe. The newspaper, through the lens of scripture, becomes a witnessing tool and a place where Christians can have their faith strengthened when we see the pieces of the divine mosaic coming together.

And that’s what we have here. A piece of the divine mosaic. China has built a surveillance system that’s straight out of the pages of “1984.” Is it the mark of the beast from Revelation? Certainly not but it is a precursor. A shadow of the horror to come.

Ever had a difficult time discussing the gospel with friends? I know I have. Why not use this?

  4. I had read about this almost a year ago. The details of it really have little to nothing to do with the actual “Mark of the Beast” when held up to Biblical prophecy. Could this possibly be a slight lean in that direction? Sure. But there are a list of things that can be added to that list. The Church will not be subjected to the Mark of the Beast. Therefore, we should have no concerns with regards to such a thing happening in our lifetime. The best thing we can do is to use things like this as a witnessing tool so that others can see that what the Bible prophesies does come true.
