BIN: “Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi spontaneously made an appeal, in his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 20, directly to Israeli leaders and citizens to make peace with Palestinians.
“We have a true opportunity, a real opportunity to write a bright page in the history of our region to move towards peace,” el-Sisi said before reading his prepared written statement.
El-Sisi referred to Egypt’s peace treaty signed with Israel in 1979 as an exemplary model to follow.”
Opinion: “Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering…”
It never ceases to amaze me how much prophecy Daniel can put in one sentence: he, is Antichrist. Confirm a covenant indicates a peace treaty between Israel and her neighbors already in existence, e.g., Oslo was/is a failed 7 year peace treaty.
Many, indicates Israel and her neighbors. One week (Hebrew shabua) is 7 years. Middle of the week 42 months (3.5 years) Antichrist will end animal sacrifice, meaning, it had to have begun when the third temple was agreed to.
There can be no peace in the Middle East until a powerful ruler convinces both Jews and Muslims, giving credence to our theory that Antichrist will be an Edomite (part Jew/part Gentile).
“.. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”
The abomination of desolation is a dual prophecy. Antiochus Epiphanes slaughtered a pig in the second temple (168 BC) creating the miraculous cleansing that led to the feast of Hanukkah.
In this future abomination, Antichrist will stand in the third temple and declare himself god. The Jews will reject him (as they rejected Mohammed, leading to 1300 years of hatred) leading to the great tribulation spoken about in Matthew 24:21-22.
God does not leave His people unprotected. Jesus warned the Jews of Judea: “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation, ‘spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” Matthew 24:15-16.
This part is mind-blowing. The mountains where the Jews will be protected during the great tribulation (last 3.5 years) are in Petra or Mt. Seir, the ancient stronghold of the eternal enemy of the Jew, Esau, who is Edom (Genesis 36:11).
