Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI: Church Is ‘on the Verge of Capsizing’

Breitbart: Given his inability to travel, the usually silent retired Pope delivered the message in writing, and had it read aloud in the Cologne Cathedral by his personal secretary, Archbishop Georg Gänswein, who also serves as Prefect of the Papal Household for Pope Francis.

In the text, Benedict said that Cardinal Meisner “found it difficult to leave his post, especially at a time in which the Church stands in particularly pressing need of convincing shepherds who can resist the dictatorship of the spirit of the age and who live and think the faith with determination.”

What moved me all the more, Benedict said, was that, “in this last period of his life, he learned to let go and to live out of a deep conviction that the Lord does not abandon His Church, even when the boat has taken on so much water as to be on the verge of capsizing.” more …

Opinion: Four Cardinals have questioned the pope concerning Holy Communion for the divorced and remarried, to which Pope Francis has not responded.

There is so much wrong with the teachings of the Catholic Church and this pope, that there is not enough room on this post. As a former Catholic, the doctrines of infant baptism, confession of sins to a priest, penance, purgatory, levels of sin, indulgences, prayers to saints/Mary etc., have so distorted Scripture that it is surprising the boat didn’t capsize long ago.

But why now? Why after surviving tens of thousands of priest sex abuse cases, continuing last month with Cardinal Pell, a high level Vatican official, and the recent homosexual scandal with monsignor Luigi Capozzi who is very close to Francis, would the ship now capsize?

“I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

That’s why.

  1. Good point, Centurion. Many people talk about francis as the False Prophet. But now I wonder… he is really old. Maybe FP will be someone younger, someone new to the scene, like the AC. I won’t say “we’ll see” because we won’t, but we can wonder.

  2. Benedict is right! God won’t abandon the Church (big “C”), the true body of Christ. Throughout the NT we have been promised the “blessed hope.” However, the worldly church (small “c”) will depart from the faith (2 Thessalonians 2) and and meets its demise as set forth in Revelation 17. Unfortunately, most of the Romish church and many of the large Protestant denominational “fiefdoms” (include also secular society’s favorite TV “mega churches”) will go down in flames ( Rev 17:16). Worshipers from these demised faux churches will then be “persuaded” to worship at the feet of the church of the “Beast” – or else!
