Erdogan Spokesman: Turkey will not drop demand for ending Gaza blockade

JPost: “The latest round of reconciliation talks between Israel and Turkey were held at an unannounced location in Europe on Thursday, but the long awaited rapprochement between the erstwhile allies remains elusive.

“Meetings with Israel have been taking place for a while and they are continuing today,” Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in Ankara on Thursday.

“If our demands are received favorably, then the next steps will be clear and the necessary announcements will be made to the public.”

Opinion: Relations between Israel and Turkey were seriously damaged as a result of the IDF raid on the Mavi Marmara in 2010 as an international group of over 600 activists were attempting to violate Israel’s blockade of Gaza when IDF commandos boarded the Turkish vessel.

The Israeli embargo is for the sole purpose of preventing weapons, missiles, and tunnel-building materials from entering Gaza. No humanitarian aid has ever been blocked.

The Hamas government has fired over 14,000 rockets into Israel since 2005; and tunnels for the purpose of terror attacks are so pervasive that Israeli residents near the Gaza border can feel the vibrations in the floor boards of their homes.

In 2013 President Obama coerced PM Netanyahu to apologize for Turkey’s act of aggression that only emboldened PM Erdogan to demand reparations, in addition to the apology.

Since we know from Ezekiel 38:1-6 that Turkey will one day join in an invasion force led by Russia, we can conclude that a hand of reconciliation from turkey is a fist.
