Evangelical Christians at a “Crossroad” Choose the Way of Evil

Breaking Israel News: “Evangelicals are the strongest supporters of Israel, so it is particularly disturbing when a group from within their midst aligns with the Palestinians – even going so far as to support acts of violence against Jews while accusing Israel of violent crimes. Yesterday, while the conference was at its peak, five terror attacks were perpetrated against Israelis.

This was precisely what happened this week at the fourth biennial Christ at the Checkpoint Conference in Bethlehem, in which over 300 attendees gathered from all over the world in an Evangelical-led hate-fest against Israel and the Jews.”

Opinion: Two theologies continue to influence the church:

Replacement Theology – God’s promises to Israel are transferred to the Church

Covenant Theology – The Church is Israel, all OT covenants were written for the Church

In the first three chapters of the Book of the Revelation, 7 churches are reviewed by Jesus. When viewed as a chronology of the Church Age dispensation, a clear picture emerges particularly, when the Greek translation is used.

  1. Ephesus:  “Beloved” – 1st century church of the Apostles
  2. Smyrna: “Crushed” – 2nd/3rd century church of intense persecution
  3. Pergamum: “Mixed Marriage” 3rd – 4th century merger of Pagan/Christian practices (Roman Empire)
  4. Thyatira: “Continual Sacrifice” – 4th – 15th century – Catholic, the Lord is still on the cross/ Replacement Theology
  5. Sardis: “Remnant”  – 16th century – Protestant  Reformation/Covenant Theology
  6. Philadelphia: “Brotherly Love” –  1800’s (19th century) –  Evangelical church/Dispensational Theology
  7. Laodicea: “The People Rule” – Apostate church at the end of the Age

The Church of Philadelphia  (Rev. 3:7-1o)

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.”

Notice that the Evangelical Church has “little strength” which will put the church under intense attack by Satan, causing some to fall away.

But the Philadelphia Church has been given special promises by Jesus if they keep His word and persevere.

Also, notice that Philadelphia is the only church given an “open door that no one can shut” indicating the rapture that John will experience in Rev. 4:1.

Philadelphia is the only church that supported Israel’s rebirth (May 14, 1948) and will receive the blessing of the Abrahamic Covenant Genesis 12:3.

Finally, Philadelphia is the only church that is told it will be ‘kept from’ (Greek, out of) the hour of trial (tribulation).

In Daniel 12, the great prophet is told by  the angel “shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
