Free Beacon: “The Department of Labor is seeking to remove the terms “he” and “she” from a regulation prohibiting discrimination in the workforce in an effort to “avoid the gender binary.”
The agency is also adding “sex stereotyping, transgender status, and gender identity” to the list of types of employment discrimination banned under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. If adopted, the regulation would cost job training centers millions of dollars to change their equal employment opportunity posters to include “gender identity.”
Labor Secretary Thomas E. Perez said when announcing the changes. “Protecting workers from discrimination based on disability, pregnancy, language proficiency, gender identity, and other factors is the right thing to do.”
Opinion: There it is again “It’s the right thing to do”.
But this time I am stumped. I had never head of Gender Binary so a quick Google search produced this:
“The gender binary, also referred to as gender binarism (sometimes shortened to just binarism), is the classification of sex and gender into two distinct, opposite and disconnected forms of masculine and feminine. It is one general type of a gender system.”
Gender system. Gender system. No matter how many times I say gender system, I get a blank. Let’s go further:
“As one of the core principles of genderism, it can describe a social boundary that discourages people from crossing or mixing gender roles, or from identifying with three or more forms of gender expression altogether.”
Ah, I get it now, we are not to discourage anyone from changing gender. But three or more forms of gender? Better keep reading:
“In this binary model, “sex”, “gender” and “sexuality” are assumed by default to align; for example, a biological male would be assumed masculine in appearance, character traits and behavior, including a heterosexual attraction to the opposite sex.”
Uh oh, I’m still back at the three genders.
Let’s try this: “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth” Genesis 1:27-28
Now, who said the Bible is complicated?
