Medium (.com): ID2020 announced plans to launch the first certification mark for digital identity at the 2019 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The ID2020 Certification Mark recognizes digital identity solutions that adhere to the highest standards for user-management, privacy-protection, portability, and interoperability.
Through its advocacy, project funding, technical support, and now by certifying best-in-class identity solutions, ID2020 is helping build the infrastructure needed to strengthen social and economic development and ensure that all of the world’s seven billion people can fully exercise their basic human rights and reap the benefits of economic empowerment.

Opinion: Building ‘the mark’ sounds so exciting and cutting-edge, doesn’t it? And what perfect timing, now that governments have figured a way to control the world’s 7.7 billion people.
“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads…”
Who could have guessed (except for a friend of mine) that just 30 days ago nations would be locking down, global markets would be in free fall, and people would be afraid to touch paper money for fear of catching a virus.
But as sure as God made little green apples, all of that has happened, and all the while technology whiz-kids have figured out an ID mark that no sane person would refuse.
The mark:
- Adheres to the highest standards for user-management, privacy-protection, portability, and interoperability.
- Globally, one in seven people are unable to prove their identity through any recognized means
- “Digital identity can empower the powerless”
- The ID2020 Certification Mark provides technology companies a framework for the development of ethical, inclusive, digital identity solutions
- The Kiva Protocol enables digital identity to be extended to all levels of economic activity
- But it can also be used to exclude people or even persecute vulnerable populations
“… and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:16-17
Previews of the apocalypse are everywhere ‘for having eyes, do you not see and having ears, do you not hear?’ Mark 8:18.
