Global Effort Launched to “Repeal and Replace” United Nations

The New American: A global effort dubbed “Covenant of Democratic Nations” is working to abolish the United Nations, widely ridiculed as the “dictators club,” and replace it with an international forum open exclusively to free and democratic nations. Basically, it is a “repeal and replace” campaign to protect the world from the UN and its increasingly vicious attacks on freedom and self-government.

The figurative straw that broke the camel’s back for organizers appears to have been UN Security Council resolution 2334 declaring the presence of Jews in parts of Jerusalem to be a violation of supposed “international law.” more

Opinion: Like it was torn out from Romans 8:28. Resolution 2334 may be the epitaph of the most corrupt globalist group of them all. And depending on who is counting, the United States will save between $7-14 billion per year if the UN is abolished.

The good news: Scandals, the legacy of the UN, will come to an end:

From the Oil-for-Food and Congo peacekeeping scandals of the mid 1990’s to the child rape allegations of the past decade, to the failure of the U.N. Commission on the U.N. Human Rights Council, which was populated with some of the world’s worst human rights violators, to the total and utter disdain of Israel and support for the PA, the UN should be remembered as a dark stain on the world.

The Covenant of Democratic Nations held its “Global Launch” event last month on Capitol Hill. The new organization will review, re-ratify, amend, or nullify all acts and resolutions of the United Nations and its agencies creating a new body of long-overdue, reformed, and updated international law.

The Trump administration is already working on executive orders and actions that would fit nicely with that agenda.

The bad news: The new international body, will be comprised solely of those nations governed by democratic principles, devoted to genuine democracy, equality, and peaceful relations throughout the world.

World peace again?

The carnal man will never understand that fallen humanity is incapable of real peace. Some Protestant Christian denominations teach that the Second Coming of Christ will come at the end of the Millennium and mark the full achievement of the kingdom of God on earth.

They believe that we are already in the Millennium, which began with Christ’s resurrection, and that the world is gradually moving towards the promised time of peace and righteousness.

Postmillennialism has merged with the social gospel movement, and the belief is that good will gradually triumph over evil; that the Second Coming will take place after a millennium of peace and prosperity for the church, and will be ushered in by the divinely aided efforts of the church. The church will bring worldwide peace, love and brotherhood, instead of Christ bringing the millennial sabbath (rest) of the world. So, it is what we do, not what Jesus the Christ does for us.

But, a literal interpretation of the Bible makes no false promises that mankind can save itself. Instead, it consistently tells us how dependent we are on God for every good thing (James 1:17). End times prophecy continually explains how wicked the world will grow (2 Timothy 3:1-7; 2 Peter 3:3-7).

The time before Christ’s arrival will be one of great tribulation (Matthew 24:21) and war (Revelation 17:14), not peace.

Why else would the garments of Christ be stained red? Isaiah 63:1-3, Revelation 19:13-15.

World peace will only come when the Prince of Peace returns, Revelation 20:1-2.
