Hezbollah shows off tanks, missiles in Syria

YNet News: “The Lebanese terror group Hezbollah has shown off its forces on foreign soil for the first time; it has also shown off its arsenal of tanks and APCs for the first time ever; Hezbollah now has capabilities usually only national militaries have.”

northOpinion: The Iranian proxy terror group Hezbollah “Party of Allah” has an interesting relationship to Bible prophecy.

In 1000 BC, a Temple priest by the name of Asaph prophesied an alliance of nations that would attack Israel in the last days. One of the members of the alliance is called ‘the inhabitants of Tyre’ (Psalm 83:7) which not coincidentally is the ancient name for Lebanon, the nation just to the north of Israel.

Hezbollah emerged in southern Lebanon in the early 1980’s dedicated to follow the Islamic Shia theology developed by Iranian leader Ayatollah Khomeini.

Israeli officials estimate that Hezbollah has amassed around 150,000 rockets, including a number of long range Iranian-made missiles capable of striking Israeli cities from north to south.

According to Wikipedia: “The Hezbollah Program” the principles of its ideology are:

  • To expel Americans, the French and their allies definitely from Lebanon, putting an end to any colonialist entity on our land
  • To submit the phalanges to a just power and bring them all to justice for the crimes they have perpetrated against Muslims and Christians
  • To permit all the sons of our people to determine their future and to choose in all the liberty the form of government they desire. We call upon all of them to pick the option of Islamic government which, alone, is capable of guaranteeing justice and liberty for all. Only an Islamic regime can stop any future tentative attempts of imperialistic infiltration onto our country.

The Hezbollah program also listed the Ayatollah Khomeini as the leader whose “orders we obey”; called on Christians to “open your hearts to our call” and “embrace Islam” and noted that “Allah has made it intolerable for Muslims to participate in a regime which is not predicated upon the Sharia”; explained that Israel is “the vanguard of the United States in our Islamic world”.

What has always fascinated me is that Psalm 83 lists the Shia-based inhabitants of Tyre in alliance with Sunni-based Edom (Hamas).

Something very big would have to happen to bring those two groups together.

Perhaps a US embassy in Jerusalem.
