Israel 365: Another series of suspicious explosions and accidents in Iran have the Islamist regime scratching their heads and asking if they are the victims of their own incompetence, Israeli ingenuity inspired by a Semitic drive for self-preservation, or perhaps the wrath of the God of Israel.

On Saturday evening, a large fire broke out in a steel mill in Zarand, Kerman Province leading to a large explosion. A large explosion resulted and though several people were injured, no deaths were reported.

This follows a large blaze that broke out in Tehran’s Tondgooyan Refinery on Wednesday. Two liquefied petroleum gas tanks burned for over a day until they were extinguished.

On Tuesday, a fire broke out onboard the Kharg, a logistics-training vessel and the largest vessel in Iran’s navy. The ship sank on Wednesday after all 400 crew and trainees aboard had been evacuated. 20 people were hospitalized with minor burns.

A fire and explosion on May 23 at Shahin Shahr, near Esfahan, in central Iran was initially reported to be at Sepahan Nargostar chemical plant. At least nine people were injured in the incident. It was later revealed that the plant produced drones.

Among them shall be Persia, Nubia, and Put, everyone with shield and helmet; Ezekiel 38:5 (The Israel BibleTM)

Opinion: The Israeli Bible version calls one of the nations prophesied to attack Israel in the last days Nubia.

Nubia, ancient region in northeastern Africa, extending approximately from the Nile River valley (near the first cataract in Upper Egypt) eastward to the shores of the Red Sea, southward to about Khartoum (in what is now Sudan), and westward to the Libyan Desert.

The KJV and NKJV call the area Ethiopia while the NIV and ESV call it Cush and Put:

  • Persia is modern day Iran.
  • Cush (eldest son of Noah’s son Ham) settled in the area of Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia
  • Put (third son of Ham) Settled in the area of Libya, possibly Tunisia and Algeria

Interesting that each version gets us to North Africa joining in with

  • Gog, a prince of (Rosh) Russia; a title of the leader
  • Magog, the 2nd son of Japheth (a son of Noah) who settled in what is today Russia
  • Josephus, the first century Jewish historian, identified the offspring of Magog as the Scythians (Edomites from Judea and Persia) who were known as brutal, horse-riding nomads that resided in the area of modern-day southern Russia and East Ukraine
  • Meshech and Tubal, once a part of Turkey

Equally interesting is that Russia and Turkey are major arms suppliers to North Africa (Nubia) today.

The invasion is Gog Magog (Ezekiel 38-39) The exact reason for the attack is to take Israel’s vast wealth and it cannot happen until Israel is living in false peace (Ezekiel 38:8).

As long as there are Edomites in Judea and Gaza that peace will never happen which brings us to another great debate.

Is Psalm 83 an actual war or a psalmist’s lament?
