Israel 365: Many rumors never go away and such are the rumors that the Temple treasures that were carried away by the Romans are hidden away in the Vatican basement. Rabbi Harry Moskoff is actively pursuing this myth, trying to determine if it is, in fact, true and if the treasures from the Second Temple in Jerusalem can ever be returned to their rightful owners in time to be used in the Third Temple.

Rabbi Moskoff explored this possibility in his book, The A.R.K Report, suggesting that some artifacts, including the gold Menorah, were being held by the Vatican. Ancient Jewish manuscripts, unique and highly significant to the Jews, were indeed discovered in the subterranean Vatican library. Moskoff cites the still-visible proof offered by the Arch of Titus that the Temple’s vessels were verifiably in Rome at one point in history, though the event depicted in the arch took place several years before the construction of the arch, which was built four centuries before the establishment of the Vatican.
The event depicted in the Arch of Titus is also written about by Josephus Flavius, a first-century Roman-Jewish scholar of priestly descent, who reported that the Temple artifacts were indeed taken to Rome and placed in Vespasian’s Temple of Peace, completed in 75 CE.
Moskoff emphasized that the Vatican was built directly over the Temple of Peace.

Respect ‘status quo’ of Jerusalem, says Pope in response to Trump move
“Pope Francis, speaking hours before U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement on Jerusalem, called on Wednesday for the city’s “status quo” to be respected, saying new tension in the Middle East would further inflame world conflicts.”
It was a mystifying statement in that the knife/car ramming intifada was in full swing as was the almost daily rocket barrage from Hamas into southern Israel.
Imagine the incalculable worth of the temple implements adding to Israel’s massive natural gas deposits in the Levant. Imagine the growing anti-Semitic rage in the UN, EU, Vatican and US Democrat party when Israel actually gains control of this wealth. Imagine a Russian prince (EZ. 38:1-2), fed up with Israel’s meddling in natural gas sales to Europe, and now is named the wealthiest nation on earth:
“Sheba and Dedan (Saudi Arabia)and the merchants of Tarshish (Britain) and all her villages (US/colonies) will say to you Have you come to plunder? Have you gathered your hordes to loot, to carry off silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods and to seize much plunder?” Ezekiel 38:13
The nations who abandoned Israel will be asking the Russian prince what his intentions are. But only God will answer
“‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You are the one I spoke of in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel. At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them. 18 This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord.” Ez. 38:17-18
With the Russian-led invasion swarming from every side into Israel in real time TV, the world will be certain of Israel’s certain and final destruction.
But that is not what happens:
“I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.” Ezekiel 38:21-22
