- A new report warns that ISIS is attempting to make a comeback by resorting to a tactic it employed back in 2013 when it was still known as Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) — the targeted assassinations of Iraqi security personnel.
- ISIS also continues to wage an effective propaganda campaign online, which helps it maintain a global footprint even as its presence in Iraq and Syria has become more faint. more …
Opinion: It really does not matter whether ISIS is defeated or not. The hatred Esau’s descendants have for their ‘brother’ Jacob is so old and so deep that I’m pretty sure very few terror groups know of its origin, because of the absence of Scripture.
In a nutshell:
“Then He (God) said to him (Abraham), “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it.” Genesis 15:8
“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates”. Genesis 15:18.
“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” Genesis 17:7-8
God intended the land for the line of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Esau, who was from that line, sold his birthright to his brother Jacob for a bowl of soup, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” Genesis 26:29-34.
On Isaac’s deathbed, two blessings were given and even though Isaac was deceived, God had intended for Jacob to be the beneficiary of the land:
To Jacob: Therefore may God give you
Of the dew of heaven,
Of the fatness of the earth,
And plenty of grain and wine.
29 Let peoples serve you,
And nations bow down to you.
Be master over your brethren,
And let your mother’s sons bow down to you.
Cursed be everyone who curses you,
And blessed be those who bless you!” Genesis 27:28-29
To Esau: “Your dwelling will be
away from the earth’s richness,
away from the dew of heaven above.
40 You will live by the sword
and you will serve your brother.
But when you grow restless,
you will throw his yoke
from off your neck.” Genesis 27:39-40 NIV
