BIN: “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He will sustain thee; He will never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalms 55:23 (The Israel Bible™)
“The nation that once relied on imported coal, natural gas and oil for its energy needs may soon become energy-independent due to a recent discovery of giant gas fields Israel never knew it had.”
Opinion: Chapter 4 of Joel Rosenberg’s 2006 best seller “Epicenter” is titled “Israel Discovers Massive Reserves of Oil and Gas“. Rosenberg is not a prophet. He does, however, believe in Bible prophecy and the headline is an example of working backwards from what prophecy tells us, or reading the newspaper with the ‘third lens’ of Scripture.
Compare these prophecies with the headline at top:
- Genesis 49:25
- Deuteronomy 33:9
- Isaiah 45:3
But it doesn’t end there, the title of (Epicenter) Chapter 7: “A Czar Rises in Russia“.
It’s easy to imagine Vladimir Putin not being happy about Israel becoming a competitor in selling oil and gas, Russia’s lifeblood, to Egypt and the EU.
Mr. Putin’s rising power makes him an interesting candidate to fulfill the prophecy of ‘Gog’ of Ezekiel 39:1-2 who will lead an invasion force (Ezekiel 39:3-6) against Israel in the last days before the start of the tribulation to take plunder (Ezekiel 39:13).
And oil and gas make the ideal plunder.
