Reuters: “The vote was able to pass the 15-member council on Friday because the United States broke with a long-standing approach of diplomatically shielding Israel and did not wield its veto power as it had on many times before – a decision that Netanyahu called “shameful”.
“I instructed the Foreign Ministry to complete within a month a re-evaluation of all our contacts with the United Nations, including the Israeli funding of U.N. institutions and the presence of U.N. representatives in Israel,” Netanyahu said in broadcast remarks.”
Opinion: Fourteen member states of the UN voted against Israel to thunderous applause. Since Friday no other nation has come to Israel’s side. It is important to look at them because each one is under judgment:
I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:3
Of five permanent UNSC members – 4 voted against Israel and 1 abstained:
- Russian Federation
- The United Kingdom
- The United States – abstained
“For the day of the Lord upon all the nations is near; As you (Esau) have done (to Jacob), it shall be done to you; Your reprisal shall return upon your own head.” Obadiah 1:15
Ten non-permanent members elected for two-year terms by the General Assembly – all voted against Israel
- Angola (2016)
- Egypt (2017)
- Japan (2017)
- Malaysia (2016)
- New Zealand (2016)
- Senegal (2017)
- Spain (2016)
- Ukraine (2017)
- Uruguay (2017)
- Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of) (2016)
Each nation voted to divide God’s land:
“For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.” Joel 3:1-2
What is fascinating to me is that 3500 years ago Moses knew that throughout history Israel would be unable to reckon itself among the nations (Numbers 23:9). The Israelites were to be a separate people unto the Lord (Deuteronomy 7:6).
God alone would protect His chosen people.
The Churches throughout history have mistakenly thought that perhaps God had changed His mind. That perhaps all the blessings of the Jew had been transferred to the Church, despite no evidence to that in Scripture.
In fact Romans 9:3-5 says the exact opposite.
Since November 8, 2016, God has appointed 1 man to change things up. As of this writing he is the only world leader who is standing up for God’s people. A modern day Cyrus perhaps?
It was a Gentile Persian king who freed God’s people from captivity. The prophet named him 200 years before his birth.
Isaiah 45:1 “Thus says the Lord to His anointed, To Cyrus, whose right hand I have held—To subdue nations before him And loose the armor of kings, To open before him the double doors, So that the gates will not be shut.”
