JPost: According to the report, the discord involves Education Minister Naftali Bennett calling for immediate action while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon oppose such a move that could stir up further contention in the government.
In one closed-door discussion in recent weeks on the Gaza tunnel threat, Bennett reportedly suggested that Israel not hesitate on initiating action against the tunnels Hamas is digging toward Israel, warning against more serious consequences in the future.
Netanyahu and Ya’alon, on the other hand, appear to remain opposed to swift action on the matter.”
Opinion: From our post yesterday, Zephaniah 2:4-5 prophesied (620 BC) that Gaza would be abandoned and left in ruins in the final judgments. In Zephaniah 2:6-7 God tells the people that the land will then be left for the remnant of Judah who survived the wrath of the Day of the Lord.
God’s unchanging love for His people is evident in the last sentence of verse 7:
“The land by the sea will become pastures having wells for shepherds and pens for flocks. That land will belong to the remnant of the people of Judah; there they will find pasture. In the evening they will lie down in the houses of Ashkelon. The Lord their God will care for them; he will restore their fortunes.”
