While such a defense is beneficial, it also restricts the passage from the bloodstream to the brain, of drugs intended to treat brain diseases.
Israeli researchers have now developed a technology for transporting drugs within silicon nanostructures to the brain. There is not a year that goes by that an Israeli medical team isn’t breaking ground on some incurable disease. Last week Israeli doctors found a gene that causes Atrial Fibrillation (here), a condition near and dear to my heart (pun intended).
