John Zmirak: Pope Francis Talks Like ‘Angry South American Politician’

Breitbart: Pope Francis is pushing an “anti-American” and “anti-American worldview” via “hysterical leftist agitprop,” said The Stream’s Senior Editor John Zmirak on Monday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight.

Describing the pope as “angry” and “not exceptionally bright,” Zmirak cast the pope’s politics as supportive of furthering global convergence of governance:

He seems to want open borders for Western countries. He never talks about Mexico needing to let in everybody for El Salvador. No, it’s the United States that doesn’t have a right to have borders. Europe doesn’t have a right to have borders. The most shocking thing, back in 2013, he went to the city of Lampedusa in Sicily, a little town, a little place, it is so overwhelmed with economic migrants from North Africa that the migrants now outnumber the residents of the city. He gave a talk in 2013 where he compared Europeans who didn’t want to accept Muslim migrants, he compared them to Cain who killed his brother in the Garden of Eden and Herod who slaughtered the children of Bethlehem. This is not rational discourse.

This is not theology. This is hysterical leftist agitprop of the kind that you read in Venezuelan government newspapers.

Opinion: That Pope Francis rarely speaks of the Gospel has been the subject of dozens of posts since his election to the papacy on March 13, 2013. Rather strange, since his title as ‘Vicar of Christ’ should lead him to follow Jesus’ instructions in His last words to His disciples:

“Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Matthew 28:19

This pope has the ire of the conservative wing of the church on issues from homosexuality to divorce to open borders, but the real wickedness of Francis, however, is not any of those issues, since he is 81 years old and will likely not live long enough to change the 2000-year-old institution.

It is Francis’ open embrace of Mahmoud Abbas, who was deputy to one of history’s most heinous terrorists, Yasser Arafat, that is leading 1.2 billion followers into accepting an anti-Semitic world view on the order of early church father John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople (344-407 AD):

The synagogue is worse than a brothel…it is the den of scoundrels and the repair of wild beasts…the temple of demons devoted to idolatrous cults…the refuge of brigands and debauchees, and the cavern of devils. It is a criminal assembly of Jews…a place of meeting for the assassins of Christ… a house worse than a drinking shop…a den of thieves, a house of ill fame, a dwelling of iniquity, the refuge of devils, a gulf and a abyss of perdition.”…”I would say the same things about their souls… As for me, I hate the synagogue…I hate the Jews for the same reason.

And Augustine (354-430 AD):

How hateful to me are the enemies of your Scripture! How I wish that you would slay them (the Jews) with your two-edged sword, so that there should be none to oppose your word! Gladly would I have them die to themselves and live to you!

Here is the worst part: The Catholic Church conservatives against Francis have voiced no criticism of him embracing the Edomite Abbas:

And with the Vatican becoming the first European state to recognize a Palestinian embassy, Francis is in violation of the God (Genesis 12:2; Joel 3:1-2) he is supposed to represent.
