Jordan’s king on Independence Day: We’ll defend Arab identity of Palestine

JPost: Abdullah addressed his subjects to mark the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Hashemite monarchy. A text of his remarks is below.

“Jordan is celebrating its 70th Independence Day, along with the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt and Arab renaissance. These historical occasions have planted and nourished the seeds of our homeland, with sacrifice, bravery and a deep sense of belonging. They are the source of our values, principles and the foundations of our policies. We stand together to commemorate the events that shaped our history and to honour the leaders, and the men and women, who set the course that lit our paths towards the future.

The cause that the Great Arab Revolt defended, and the one that is our foremost priority, is the Arab identity of Palestine.”

Opinion: And Jordan is Israel’s strongest partner in the Middle East.

August 2, 1914 just prior to WWI, the Ottoman–German Alliance was formed and ratified  shortly following the outbreak of World War I.

November 2, 2017, the Balfour Declaration acknowledged the establishment of a Jewish home in Palestine.

World War I began on July 28, 1914 and ended on November 11, 1918. The Ottoman-German Alliance collapsed and with it the entire Ottoman empire.

The Arab world with the help of liberal progressive politicians has been trying to re-write history ever since.

One of Satan’s most clever achievements.

The British awarded Palestine to the Jewish people. By the time Israel received her independence on May 14, 1948, the land grant had shrunk from 43,075 square miles (both sides of the Jordan river) to 5,560 square miles, 75% of which was desert.

That land reduction, authorized by Churchill, was used to carve out Trans Jordan (east of the Jordan) as a home for the Arab peoples, placing Britain in violation of the Abrahamic Covenant (Genesis 12:3); the world’s biggest empire in history would begin to decline.

The world is willfully ignoring facts and pandering to the Arab squeaky wheel again. As late as 1981 King Hussein of Jordan, father of  king Abdullah II,  was widely quoted as saying “The truth is that Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan.”

The two state solution has been in place since 1948.

The prophet Zechariah, from his perch in the 6th century BC, saw what would happen at the time of the end. Zechariah knew that Israel’s eternal enemy, Edom, would never give up the desire to covet the promised land, and prophesied what would happen to all those who tried:

“And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.”

The king of Jordan better celebrate while he can.
