Neon Nettle: Julian Assange gave an explosive interview just before his broadcast was cut short by Ecuadorian hosts, warning the world how technological advances are changing humankind, and probably not for the better.
Assange went on to describe how global surveillance will soon be totally unavoidable.
“Look at what Google and Baidu and Tencent and Amazon and Facebook are doing. They are basically open-cut harvesting the knowledge of humankind as we express it, when we communicate with each other… This classical model, which people in academia call ‘surveillance capitalism’… has changed now.
“There is no border [online]. It’s 220 milliseconds from New York to Nairobi. Why would there ever be peace in such a scenario?” he said. more …
Opinion: BTW, a millisecond is a thousandth of a second.
“Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Nothin’, don’t mean nothin’ hon’ if it ain’t free,” Janis Joplin 1971.
So what will do it? What will cause governments to demand an end to freedom of expression, freedom to move about the internet unrestricted and freedom to own a gun?
Just before the prophesied calamities of the 4 horsemen of Revelation 6:1-8, Paul prophesies an event so large, that it will literally shake the senses of every person left on earth.
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.
When the Church of Jesus Christ leaves the earth in the Rapture, the Holy Spirit will be taken out of the way, in the sense that His unique lawlessness-restraining ministry (indwelt in those who accepted Jesus’ death as atonement for sin) will be removed:
“For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.”
When the Restrainer is taken out of the way, and the ‘lawless one is revealed’ (2 Thessalonians 2:8) only then, can the Day of the Lord (tribulation) begin.
