NoKo nuclear test mountain may collapse, let out ‘many bad things’

Sydney Herald: Beijing: North Korea has conducted all of its underground nuclear tests beneath one mountain, Chinese scientists believe, prompting one to express concern the mountain may collapse, causing an environmental disaster.

“We call it taking the roof off,” the China Institute of Atomic Energy’s Wang Naiyan told the South China Morning Post.

“If the mountain collapses and the hole is exposed, it will let out many bad things.” more …

Opinion: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

There has been much fear lately: the first threat of nuclear war since the cold war, monster hurricane Harvey’s devastation of Texas and Louisiana, a fast approaching cat 5 hurricane named Irma (which Editor and I are in the path of), and now Jose is also threatening the US.

Scripture teaches there are two kinds of fear: one type brings blessing and benefit, while another kind brings anxiety and should be avoided. The Hebrew word for fear is yare meaning awesome, or reverence.

Fear as a blessing:

  • Psalm 111:10
  • Proverbs 1:7
  • Proverbs 14:27

Fear to be avoided:

  • Isaiah 41:10
  • 1 John 4:18
  • Matthew 10:31

And, a half brother of Jesus goes one step further telling us to rejoice when trouble comes!

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:1-5

How good is that.
