Arutz Sheva: “Opposition head MK Yitzhak(Zionist Union) on Wednesday afternoon met with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Rome, and in the course of the meeting presented his “separation” peace plan involving a regional effort to create a Palestinian state in Israel.
During the meeting, which is the fourth between the two in the last half-year, Kerry expressed interest in Herzog’s plan, which would form a regional security committee consisting of Egypt, Jordan and Israel together with other Arab states.
This committee would coordinate a joint fight against radical Islamic terror, according to Herzog, and likewise advance “confidence building measures” in the Middle East. In a meeting with Kerry last November he clarified those measures would include “removing territories from Israel.”
Opinion: The mind of the secular Jew never ceases to amaze. In 1967 Moshe Dyane literally handed the Temple Mount to the Arab Mufti after the miraculous victory that reunited Jerusalem in the 1967 war after 2000 years.
I have to repeat something from Monday. Palestinians, descendants of Esau, have been coveting the land of Israel since the 6th century BC.
A little history:
The patriarch, Esau, sold his birthright to the land for a bowl of red porridge (Genesis 16:29-34). The last 5 words of verse 34 “Thus Esau despised his birthright” turned to hatred for his brother Jacob.
Two chapters later Esau decides to kill Jacob and he is still trying:
“So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing (birthright) with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, “The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.” Genesis 27:41
And Esau moved his tribes to Mt Seir in southern Jordan (Genesis 36:8) until the 6th century BC when a Nabatean tribe from the Arabian Peninsula forced them out.
The Edomites moved into Judea (West Bank). When the Babylonian army came (586 BC) to fulfill prophecy (Isaiah 39:6, Jeremiah 25:11) by taking the Israelites captive to Babylon for 70 years, the Edomites helped the Babylonians in an attempt to take back Esau’s birthright.
“In the day that you stood on the other side—In the day that strangers carried captive his forces, When foreigners entered his gates And cast lots for Jerusalem—Even you were as one of them.” Obadiah 1:10
Obadiah records the whole incident in 1 chapter in the smallest book of the Bible. In Obadiah 1:15, Edom is told that what they have done, will be done to them, and in Obadiah 1: 18, God pronounces judgment.
Messrs. Herzog and Kerry had better heed verse 15.
