Donald Trump is running Jerusalem and he had better be careful. The obvious answer to “giving something in return” is a future Palestinian state, and there are two clues in prophecy that could bear that out.
“For the day of the Lord upon all the nations is near;
As you have done, it shall be done to you;
Your reprisal shall return upon your own head.” Obadiah 1:15
All the nations could include a Palestinian nation state, and if we combine that with Jesus’ reference to Edom in Isaiah 63:1-3 at the time of His second coming, we find the nation of Edom at the end of the tribulation.
Trump’s approval of a Palestinian state would then bring God’s judgment on the US in accordance with Genesis 12:3
“I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
And Joel 3:1-2
“For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land.”
