RT: The Ukrainian President’s trip to Washington has drawn out the West’s “Russia-watchers” in force. Among them is Michael McFaul, a former US ambassador to Moscow who has since morphed into a prolific, if unreliable, commentator.
In a new op-ed in the Washington Post, McFaul makes it clear he sees Volodymyr Zelensky’s meeting with President Joe Biden as in need of a loud battle cry, appealing to the American government and the public to rally behind Ukraine’s calls for support. But, as is customary in the Stanford professor’s output, Kiev is really just an excuse, almost reduced to a mere pretext.
In reality, McFaul has a much larger (and very old) ax to grind, namely with Russia (and Belarus and China thrown in, too, for good measure). In his best Cold War-reenactor fashion, the former – and somewhat hapless and gaffe-prone – diplomat wants us to believe in three main things: dominos, good “sons of b**ches,” and strategic silence.
When it comes to dominos, McFaul is commendably explicit. Either Ukraine gets the support it wants from Washington, and the country then succeeds (there is a bad non-sequitur here, as some people in Kabul have just found out, but never mind…), or nasty autocrats from Moscow to Beijing will be “emboldened.” If Kiev topples, Western civilization goes with it. Opinion: I think it is safe to say at this point that every enemy of the United States is emboldened, bringing us back to an often asked question: Where is The United States in Bible Prophecy?
One much debated answer is found in Ezekiel 38:13:
“Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?”
- Sheba and Dedan are cities in Saudi Arabia
- Merchants of Tarshish represents Spaniards who sailed from Spain to bring back tin (Britain)
- The lion is the symbol for Britain – young lions may then represent America and colonies. (All three nations are depicted as powerless)
Another explanation along the same lines is found in the 4 beasts of Daniel 7
“The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.” Daniel 7:4
Lion (symbol for Britain) with eagle’s wings (symbol for America) – standing on two feet with its wings plucked, represents Britain, America and colonies that had lost their power and question the second beast as to why it is attacking Israel, Ezekiel. 38:13.
One way or the other, the best fit for North America is part of the Beast Empire of Antichrist:
Battle of Armageddon – Four Power Blocs:
- King of the North: Syria, nations to the north of Israel Dan.11:40)
- King of the South: Egypt, (North Africa), nations to the south of Israel (Dan. 11:40)
- Western Alliance, Beast Army of Antichrist – revived Roman Empire (Psalm 2:1-4; Dan. 11:40; Rev.16:14, 19:19)
- Kings of the East – China India, Nations to the east of Israel(Rev. 16:12)
