Olympic Sized Anti-Semitism

YNet News: “Israeli Ori Sasson bested Egyptian Islam El Shehaby on the Judo mat in Rio on Friday, and, as is customary, he extended his hand to his opponent after winning Israel’s second bronze medal; when the Egyptian refused, the crowd booed, and many have condemned his refusal.”

  • Palestinian swimmer Mary al-Atrash complained that she did not have an Olympic-sized pool to train in, while all she needed to do was apply for a permit to travel to Jerusalem where several full-sized pools were available to her.
  • Prior to the opening ceremonies, the Lebanese Olympic delegation refused to allow Israeli athletes to board a bus they were supposed to share en route to the Olympics.
  • Early in the week a Saudi judo fighter reportedly forfeited a match so as not to face an Israeli athlete in a later round, and in an Olympic qualifying match, a boxer from Syria, Ala Ghasoun, refused to fight an Israeli athlete because it would acknowledge Israel’s right to exist.

I can’t help but wonder if these athletes even know why their hatred is so deep or what started it. Do they know, or does anyone acknowledge any more, that the hatred that started in the womb of Isaac’s wife Rebekah 4000 years ago continues today?

And the Lord said to her:

“Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”

Only the Savior can end it.
