Arutz Sheva: This week the Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot informed us that Jason Greenblatt, President Trump’s special representative for international negotiations, said that the Americans intend to reconnect the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian Authority. If Greenblatt actually did say that, it reveals an important component of the American Peace Plan whose preparation has been going on for over a year.
In the Middle East, however, everything anyone says has three layers: The upper and visible layer is the content of what has been said, the middle one is what the person speaking really means and the lowest is what he is hiding. While hearing someone’s words, a listener in the Middle East tries to penetrate to the hidden layers, understand the real intention of the speaker and reveal what is being hidden from him.
That is why when any Palestinian Arab politician, PLO or Hamas, declares: “We must reunite Gaza and the West Bank” he means ” I understand that this is what the man in the street wants and I am saying what he wants to hear,” hiding the fact that he is certain that it will never happen and that he intends to blame the other side for the continued split.
Why won’t the reunification happen? Because the two areas differ totally in their culture, language, behavior and thought patterns. more ...
Opinion: Bible prophecy tells us that the PA and Hamas will join forces in a war of annihilation. According to Psalm 83:1-8, the Palestinian Authority (Edom, Psalm 83:6) will one day take up arms with Hamas of Gaza (Philistia, Psalm 83:7) in an all-Arab war to end the Jewish control of Israel and exterminate every Jew, men, women and children. It is even in the Hamas charter:
“The Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement was issued on August 18, 1988. The Islamic Resistance Movement, also known as the HAMAS, is an extremist fundamentalist Islamic organization operating in the territories under Israeli control. Its Covenant is a comprehensive manifesto comprised of 36 separate articles, all of which promote the basic HAMAS goal of destroying the State of Israel through Jihad” read more here
While the Psalmist Asaph gave us the ancient names of each Arab army in the attack, he did not give us the spark that would ignite the entire Arab world, Sunni and Shia, to launch the attack. A theory that several Bible prophecy scholars have suggested can be found in Isaiah 17:
The Burden of Damascus (Isaiah 17:1, 4, 14)
v.4: “In that day it shall come to pass that the glory of Jacob will wane, And the fatness of his flesh grow lean.” (Israeli casualties)
v.14: “At evening tide, lo, terror! Before morning they are gone. Such is the fate of those who pillage us and the lot of those who plunder us.”
FACT: Damascus, the capital of Syria, is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, population approximately 1.7 million made up of Sunni (76.9%), Shia and Kurds, and Alawites, Druze and Christians.
The fulfillment of Isaiah 17 may be the spark that unites the Arab world.
(Although Damascus was conquered many times in history, and the city was partially destroyed in 732 BC when the Assyrians defeated the Armenians, the city was never totally destroyed)
